Man I cant believe I sat Henry at the last minute to start Cotchery (let the cheatsheets get to me). Cotchery wont make my roster the rest of the year...cant believe I just traded for the guy.

C. Baker 4 34 1 14

B. Smith 3 26 0 12

I traded away a WR to upgrade a TE. I sent Galloway packing instead of Cotchery. I really hope I didn't make the wrong call. Cotch has been very consistent over the past season and a half. I am going to give him the benefit of the doubt that he is entitled to a dud game every once in a great while. Dallas, Miami, and Cleveland are up next.

I think he should be fine.

What scared me was how often Brad Smitth was gone to in the pinch. It will be interesting to see how bad the target report is.

Today was the first game in his last 15 that Cotchery did not have 4+ receptions...

The Steelers have the #1 pass defense in the league...

He'll be fine...

I sure hope that this was just "one of those weeks" cuz I also traded Engram for him last week. :crosses fingers:

The issue is not with Clemens, the issue is with Coles. because of Coles being banged up Cotchery was doubled most of the game which is why the throws went elsewhere. Cotchery is not a good #1 receiver (real football), he is a very good #2 though. He will be fine if Coles comes back. We have seen many times where a #2 goes to be the #1 and struggles. This is somewhat similar.

Exactly - Pitt shuts down a teams top WR....When Coles went out it became a lot easier to shut out Cotchery with only Brad Smith and McCareins behind him....

The guy had plenty of looks downfield... they just didn't complete them. He had a sure TD before 2 Steeler defenders mobbed him for a long PI penalty.

Well, I wouldn't go that far... I'd say Cotchery could even be a good #1 WR - With a QB with experience, a Good #2 WR and Not playing one of the best defenses in football...A lot of people, including Coles, think Cotchery is a #1 WR in the making.

I agree with others - Cotch will get his.

Playing against a great defense, Clemens was appropriately taking what the Steelers gave him - that is, using the tertiary and fourth options since Coles and Cotchery were being blanketed. Cotchery did have a handful of targets, although one completion was called back for holding and the other was a pass interference call. There was another target in the red zone, but a poorly thrown ball by Clemens.

Unfortunately, neither Smith nor McCareins can catch a cold though (although McCareins did play better yesterday), so expect Cotchery to be targeted more often.
