If KJ ever went down to injury.

KJ is looking like a top 5 RB this year. You may want to add Calhoun as a handcuff going forward.

Watching all the Lions games in their entirety, I have been very surprised of Kevin Jones resiliency by breaking tackles and gaining yards after contact. I do not know enough about Calhoun to say whether he could replicate KJ's numbers, but I have my doubts that he could break tackles as effectively as KJ.

I don't believe Calhoun would replicate KJ's running numbers, but he would match or maybe even exceed his receiving numbers.

regrdless, by default Calhoun would catch a lot of balls and make some plays.

nice "in case" pickup in PPR's.

Good thing I drafted him to back up KJ as well as backed up C Taylor with Moore. KJ is running like a man possessed right now.

Guess this is a moot point. Calhoun was just placed on IR.Link

Too bad, I've heard good things about him.So who'd be KJ's handcuff now???

No Bryson, no Calhoun.

Arlen Harris?????

I'm not even sure it's worth handcuffing him now. Harris' #s w/ the Rams were less than stellar.

I'd agree. As a Lions fan and KJ owner, I've been watching a lot of their games. Bryson or Calhoun may have been a reasonable handcuff, but I'm not even sure that they would have done more than 60-70% of KJs production. With the Arlen Harris and Aveion Cason types backing up KJ now, I think you'd be hard pressed to spend a roster spot on those guys.

What are the details on this...ACL, MCL, sprain ???This is the first I've heard anything about this.
gotta be a knee ligament issue or a broken bone. hopefully nothing worse, sheesh. i can't see anything else that would lend itself to such a quick diagnosis except for that.

Could be schlesinger also, maybe a split b/t him and harris?

anyone w/ any insight, as we move past the trading deadline handcuffing RBs becomes more important.

Wow... The news on Calhoun's knee and subsequent IR move blind sided me right now. With Calhoun on IR, the man to handcuff is Arlen Harris. No question.

Wow I had no idea Calhoun was even hurt, much less on IR. I live in Wisconsin, and seen all of Calhoun's games at Wisconsin, and while he was unbelievable in college, he's too small to take 16 games of pounding at the NFL level. He reminds me of Warrick Dunn actually, but theres very few backs like him getting 20 carries a game. Now that i think about it, he's alot like Reggie Bush......

But would Harris even be an adequate replacement RB if you ever needed to start him?I'm debating on whether or not to even bother.

Lions also signed Aveion Cason as the 3rd stringer.

FWIW: Harris looked awfully good in the preseason, I was shocked when they initially cut him.

Otis, my man.. If KJ gets hurt and Harris is forced to start, yes.. I think he could be serviceable. As much as Maurice Morris has been serviceable. I'd even say Harris would be more productive given the Lions offense and his ability to run and catch.

We should check with Mooch. He obviously thought that Bryson, Harris, the water boy and the popcorn seller were as good as KJ.

Gracias. Good comparison. I did end up picking him up, what the heck.

Just curious, since I don't know about contracts.

Agreed to terms on a four-year, $2.36 million contract on 7/26/2006. The deal included a signing bonus of $753,000.
Is that $2.36 million guaranteed? At least if he never plays again he's set for life, if it is.
