This policy seems to be working well -- I mean, when was the last time you read a news article about any problems with law enforcement?

The lawyers are going to love this when suing the town for excessive force.

"As the jury can see, the town made a clear effort to limit the intelligence of the police force and thus invited these appallingly stupid types of acts."

 
125 IQ isn't even all that high. Higher than average, sure, but it's not like he's destined to be a rocket surgeon.

 
The rationale makes sense and there's no law against what they're doing. Being overqualified is a legitimate reason to deny employment.

Yup. He's not even two standard deviations above average. He might be bright, but that's nothing exceptional.
