Voted unsure, im not rushing out to get it upon release but would consider it a few years down the road if it’s still an issue

I am in the same boat.  Rushed medical products tend to have unforeseen issues that need to get worked out.  Something as important as this that is being rushed due to the need doesn't give me warm fuzzies about being the first guinea pigs to try it.

What is your hesitation?
Would prefer to wait for any unforeseen side effects

working in automotive I see what happens when things are rushed to market.  Different industry but same principle

also despite being significantly overweight I’m not terribly concerned about catching COVID.  Certainly don’t want it but not living in fear of it

almost voted unsure.  but i will get one, when it's been properly vetted.  so, voted yes.

Yes, I would. Although it seems likely that more than one vaccine will eventually become available so I think I'll wait a little bit to see how things turn out before deciding.
Is the Oxford team the closest to doing full human trials?

  on few years...

I won't run out and get it right away.. but thinking if there is a 3 month testing period before it is released, if I wait another 3 months then most side effects should be know by then.

So, if they continue down the path they are, it is remotely possible the first release could be sometime in November.. I'd wait until February before getting it.

I don't think side effects have an expiration date.  I am not sure there is a time frame when "most" side effects will be known.

true.. Could cause cancer in 10 years for all we know :oldunsure:

But I look at 3 months trial, 3 months others going first, should give me a good idea of "side effects after the shot" to decide whether to get it or not at that time.

I should also mention.. this is coming from someone that has never gotten the Flu shot..

If this comes back with the "less then 50%" effectiveness like the Flu shot, then .. :oldunsure:

I have never had a flu shot either.  That is why I am in the unsure category for this poll.  Just don't want to rush to something that was pushed through under pressure.

yea, I answered Unsure...  for now.. I'll wait to see how others fare..

It's tough though.. I don't have any under lying health issues *knock on Wood* so probably should take my chances sooner rather then later... My wife takes cares of Senior citizens for a living, and has diabetes. So the last thing I'd want to do is NOT get the vaccine, somehow get it and pass it onto her and those she takes care of.

There are several strains of the flu, thus the hit or miss of the effectiveness of the shot. So far, I believe the scientific community is undecided or unagreeable if Covid has multiple strains.

I'll be first in line.
I'll fight you for it (from a safe six feet away).

I can't believe how cautious some people are.  I have a friend who served in Iraq and Afghanistan, after having volunteered to join the Marines.  He was eager to risk his life and limbs to preserve our way of life.  He's one of the "I'll never get the Vax" guys because of some fears he got from the internet.  Taking the vaccine requires a level of risk that is incalculably small compared to the risks of his military service.

I consider it a duty to humanity to take the vaccine as soon as possible.

It's surprisingly common to find veterans who are scared of vaccines.

Not to mention there is a huge financial incentive to be first...
