***Cowboys 5-2 at Eagles 7-1*** (-3, 46) 4:25 (1 Viewer)

I think defense will rule the day in this game.
I'm leaning under(so of course the game will be in the 70's)
But I'm sticking to my first gut feeling...

America's Former Team- 23
Pheagles- 17

Feels early for this. Don’t we have a whole TNF before we think about the Sunday games?

That said, Cowgirls edge the Iggles, 27-24 on a Brandon Aubrey 61 yarder.

It's a combination of a couple threads that folks launched on their own last week so i didn't want to prolong the MIA-KC thread, that seems pretty obvious as must see NFL
Then I started thinking if we didn't get the Dallas-Philly thread moving it might launch itself so I pulled the trigger

So you got a 9:30 must see game, a 4:00 Primetime and then you also have a Seattle team at 5-2 visiting Baltimore 6-2 in the 1:00 time frame but for some reason that doesn't seem to have quite the allure of these other games I mentioned

The SP has been on a roll of late, hope you're not that bent about it, appreciate the feedback
Cheers

So we trade Aubrey to the Eagles somehow, and he beats us on a 61 yarder? Hmmm ok then.😵‍💫
Well, maybe he lines up to kick a 59 yarder, but somehow gets turned around and kicks the wrong way...sort of the kicking version of the Jim Marshall play

Ya this has me confused as well. Maybe he means Mccarthey kicks a 61 yarder with 1 second left on the clock even though they're down by 6?

Vegas is saying 25-22 Birds, and it seems almost everyone is picking much more points than that.

I'll go 27-24 for whichever team turns the ball over less.

This is about the time the Cowboys beat a top team or two and convince their fans this is their year.
I know it's a joke and I'm sorry for their fans as it must be brutal but...

No way I'm touching this game. Fun to watch, division rivalry and great matchups throughout

This is probably the least excited I've been about an Eagles-Cowboys game in a few years.
LOL I don't know what excites you then. 7-1 team vs 5-2 team with the balance of power in the NFC and the division looking to either strengthen or even out a bit for our squad.

The Eagles and Cowboys are going to make the playoffs and I expect them to split their games this season. So this game, IMO, will be equalized by the second game these teams play. The real excitement for me is what the Eagles do in the weeks following this game.

I mean I guess. Every game is its own personality and all though. In a vacuum, this game is very exciting and probably will be one of the most viewed games of the season after this week. To each their own.

The least excited I've been to go to the game was 10/10/99, 0-4 vs 3-0 and rain forecasted.
Still pulled off a super ugly win though. 🦅
Also got to see Michael Irvin's last game!

Stat of the day….brought to you by Red Wine. I drink that **** everyday:

Dallas is 5-0 when they get at least 1 turnover and 0-2 when they get none.

the eagles are gonna turn it over. but so are the cowboys
this worries me most about eagles, but yea, dallas is roughly the same in that regard. i see a defensive game sunday, under all day.
First person to pick the under. What is your predicted score?

23-17 Eagles with one score on the Eagles side coming from turnover.

two predictions on the offensive side,
I think Devante is gonna have a day, 120 + TD.
Zaccheaus is going to have that Quez moment where if he catches it it'll be all the talk on monday, or if he drops it it'll be the reason we fell short.

This game depends most on the match-up of Brian Johnson vs Dan Quinn. If Johnson game plans to get a quick lead and throw deep/intermediate routes, like he usually does- I think Dallas wins, in a squeaker.

If Johnson is smart, he'll get the running game going up the middle, and let the aggressive pass rush overpursue on their way to Jalen. Kill them with throws to the void in the flat or the bubble screens he loves so much. Control TOP and wear Dallas's D down with long, sustained drives. Hot reads on blitzes have to be more reasonable- can't have Jalen's outlet be a deep out or 10-yd dig.

I think Philly gets a pick-6 this week, too. Either Reed or Byard.

Dallas Goedert has his biggest game this season 7/95/TD, AJ gets 100, but the streak ends and no TDs.

Eagles: 24
Jerruh's Boyz: 17- they get all their points in the 1st half.

This *has* to be the gameplan. You gotta feel they will have a defensive game plan to stop the pass and AJ Brown with the way the games have gone the past 6 games. Cam Jurgens coming back should be a boon to the run game as well. But ya know, Brian Johnson is learning on the fly, not much experience so he might just keep going with what has been working. Hoping for a big run game plan with 30+ runs

He was QB coach last year, so he has to have paid attention to how Shane nullified Micah last year in the 1st match up.

On the Defensive side- Pollard is getting nothing going. McCarthy’s play calling and his lack of true all around RB skill set almost guarantee this. Especially against the Eagles’ Run D.

In the secondary, I think Dallas will roll Ceedee in the slot +50% looking for a mismatch. I see Desai countering with Ricks at slot and Byard in a heavy nickel. That’s where Dak will struggle, trying to force to Lamb over the middle- and that’s where an INT comes. On a crucial 3rd down in the 2nd half that outs the game out of reach.

More interesting stats.

In the 2 Cowboys losses, their opponent averaged 196 yards per game rushing against them. These teams are the 4th and 5th ranked rushing offenses.
In the 5 Cowboyw wins, their opponents averaged 67.2 rushing yards per game. Rushing ranking of these teams: 17, 18, 22, 23 and 28.

The Eagles are the 7th ranked rushing offense at 132.8 YPG

Posted this in the Birds thread but it applies here too.

Dallas' run defense is not great. Their pass defense (even w/out Diggs) is very good and good at generating turnovers. This is a game scenario that I hope they understand is a run Swift a ton scenario. Was listening to Seth Joyner explain what kind of gameplan he would use to negate Parsons as he is their main weapon on def. He said he would run 2 TE sets and motion both onto Parsons side then run the ball right at him. All day long. Basically just beat the **** out of him with big bodies and eventually a guy with Swifts speed/ability will start to rip off big gains. Which all makes sense to me, so they'll probably split 6 carries between Swift and Gainwell and throw it 50 times.

I actually think they will commit to the run but it’s going to be turnover differential that carries the day. The team that gets the most turnovers should win. Looking back this season so far, the eagles turn over a lot and Dallas doesn’t. I’m skeptical that Hurts and co have fixed the issues but a good number of those turnovers were fluky (tipped pass ints and weird center to QB fumbles) not necessarily bad mistakes.

Everyone seems to be pounding the over so I’ll go the other way. I’m gonna say this is a defensive fight with lots of FGs.

Eagles win on a long Elliot kick with time running out. 23-20

Siriani loves to talk about taking what the defense gives them each week. We'll see if they practice what they preach. Dallas run defense is not good and their pass defense is excellent. If they come out and throw 50 times, I'm going to be disappointed.

He usually does but we know that's not 100%.
I feel like vs the jets and Washington (our tightest games so far)they planned to throw a ton and it would have worked all 3 times if not for the turnovers in the jets game.
I'm a firm believer that you should be balanced and more run than pass almost always though. Esp with our setup. I think jalens knee has taken away alot of the RPO and his runs. If he's feeling a bit better a few of those may return. That's still our best stuff. We will see.....

I don't even think we need to go 50/50 pass to run. I just don't want to see 75/25 if the first couple rushes are only 2 or 3 yards.

Right. Don't give up if the first few runs are nothing

A couple of interesting things re. the Cowboys. In their last 12 road games they're only 6-6. In their last 8 games on natural grass, they are like 1-7.

The Eagles can't take the boys lightly, but a 3 point favorite given those recent Cowboys splits seems....off. What does Vegas know that we don't? I worry that the Eagles players might look forward to the bye too much, but that seems unlikely given the caliber of leadership on the team and the fact that it's the Cowboys. I'm not sure the Eagles need to be firing on ALL cylinders to win, but given the Cowboys recent road performances especially on grass, they shouldn't need their A+ game. An A-/B+ should be enough.

I think the Eagles will run effectively, with Swift having one of his better games this year (130 combined and a TD). AJ's 125 streak will end, but should still be good for 80+ and a likely TD. Look for Goedert and Smith to pick it up a little. Lamb will catch a lot of shorter passes, but Dak tosses a pick to Baird trying to force one to Lamb over the middle. Cooks has a long TD. Dak has decent yards but a couple of key turnovers under pressure from a relentless Eagles pass rush.

Eagles control the game but Dallas scores late to keep the score respectable. 31-23 Eagles

haha I was going to suggest the spread was too big. Think it's a true pickem game and might even pick Dallas on a neutral field.

Really hope we can get an int off Dak, and run run run the ball.

Not sure how anyone could NOT favor Eagles in this one, even if it were a neutral field I'd have the Eagles as at least a small favorite. At home? spread should be more like 6

Arizona beat them boys for their only win of the year

yep....Cowboys on the road......on grass.

This is gonna be a fight, that I think comes down to the last minute.

For Philly, I think Dallas plays Gilmore on Brown and works more on pass rush than coverage. That should result in some big plays for Brown, but perhaps more sacks than Hurts is used to.

For Dallas, I think last week was the start of a bit of a run for CeeDee Lamb, and I think this week could be the start of a run for Tony Pollard.

I like Dallas to pull out a win 23-21.

I used to like you
Hey, I want both these teams to lose.

Also I typed the teams in the wrong order, so there’s that.
The order is the dude from Texas needs to taste your hot sauce. Not in that way of course, but it's a chiles thing when it comes to Texas, and those Cowboys don't mess around.

This is exciting. I’m most interested to see how Dan Quinn handles what the Eagles throw at them. He knows how to get the most out of players but I’m not always sure they’re playing the best scheme.

If the Eagles are smart, they run the ball 45 times and by the fourth quarter Dallas is gassed. (This is how I would play every single game in todays era but I digress.)

For Cowboys fans, we’re just looking for some fight. Give me a reason to think you have some dog in you for the playoffs.

Philadelphia 17
Dallas 42

You do realize your game prediction doesn't remotely match your analysis, right?

How about a realistic prediction?
