**Cowboys at Eagles**(-7.5, 38) 1:00 (1 Viewer)

I think Pickett isn't as bad as people think, not that he's good, but I think he's a competent backup, not all that different than Mariota or Minshew who were able to keep the trains on time in Philly. I think the Dallas offense could struggle to do anything without Lamb, the threat of Lamb opened everything up.

I think AJ Brown continues to be a featured target and honestly, may not miss Hurts, as a lot of Hurts runs probably become hitches and slants. I think Saquon eats. This is a game I think he could easily go for 150-2. Both big plays, and sustained chunks.

Minshew actually sucked when he was in Philly. Mariota was OK.

What? Mariota was awful. Minshew was at least a functional QB.

Yeah but No
Dallas has been playing a lot better lately and Philly is trying to figure out a reason to stay interested right now, most likely hosting Wildcard weekend vs say Washington or Green Bay
Philly will not have an easy opening round, it's possible as the 2-seed they see a softer match up in the Divisional round vs Wildcard round

Dallas 22...Philly 20

How much will it hurt Philly without Hurts?
And Pickett with sore ribs
No Lamb for Dallas
That hurts for sure
I think both defenses load the box
Dallas to slow down Barkley and make Kenny beat them
And Philly to bottle up any running game for The Boys and force Cooper to throw to whoever he has to throw to
Hard for me to see Dallas sustaining a lot of drives
I think Philly wins the t.o.p. and controls the game all day
So...

Dallas defense definitely got better since Parsons and Bland returned. They are not a doormat now. Back to above average and closer to good. That said, I don't think they can stop Eagles offense all day even with Pickett. Dallas offense without Lamb is bad. I see the Eagles defense bouncing back from a bad week against Washington and taking it out on the Cowboys.

No hurts is bad. This eagles offense needs him in there to function properly. Once he was out, Washington just stacked the box against Saquon. I still think with a week to prepare, Kenny can be effective and hit AJ and Smith. It doesn’t all matter that much. Eagles defense is just too good for Dallas to put up enough points to win. I’ll be shocked if Dallas can get above 14 points, so Kenny just needs to protect the ball and make a few plays-let Saquon do the rest.

A loss to Dallas means a must win week 18 game against the Gints. If hurts can’t go in the game either and they were to somehow lose, they’d drop to the five seed, which would be an absolute disaster. They know this. They’ll get it done today and rest folks next week.

Eagles 20-13

My general thoughts:

*Eagles are not eliminated from earning the #1 seed. Until they are I am not assuming anything. Detroit plays Monday night and while I certainly do not expect them to lose, stranger things have occured.
*Eagles offense will not let up. 72% Barkley & the O-line, 28% Pickett short-to-intermediate with Smith the major beneficiary.
*Eagles defense will tear up the Cowboys. Embarrassed last week, Fangio & Co. will completely dominate, start-to-finish.
*Eagles will trot out McKee sometime during the second half to give him some in-game experience.

*Surprisingly, I am in agreement with @Ministry of Pain , the O/U is way too low. Eagles cover that on their own.

*Eagles win.

Against Philly, I see the same problems for DAL that I saw for PIT, how do they score enough points to win? Philly simply needs to play competent special teams and not turn the ball over to win.

This is the scenario:
  • Philadelphia needs to win out
  • both the Lions and Vikings need to lose in Week 17
  • Minnesota needs to defeat Detroit on the road in Week 18
  • The Eagles, at 14-3, would earn the tiebreaker over the Vikings with their common opponent record
So I'm saying there's a chance....

Lions are 7-0 on the road, 49ers are beat up, and Detroit has won 14 of its last 16 NFC North games

But I'm saying there's a chance....

BRANDIN COOKS will be the de facto No 1 WR and he's available in some leagues
10-15 PPR today? Decent flex spot for those with injuries this week?

Of course they missed yet another facemask penalty. Can't remember a season with that being missed so often

The second-down play should never have been called. That's a play designed to take advantage of Hurts' skills. Pickett does not have the skill set to pull it off.

We get almost no calls
Wasn't going there. Facemask has been missed a LOT by refs this year in all the games, and it's changed the outcome of several
Hopefully it will be a "point of emphasis" for the officials in the offseason. Which probably means we'll see a ton of flags for it next year.

They're going to add it as a possible eye in the sky call I bet

Interesting who has the mojo in this game right now
Pick-6 by Philly and you think this game is going to be over quickly but then Dallas marches right back don the field
Bananas to start and not sure who really has the upper hand right now
Philly appears like the better team but their offense isn't exactly rolling just yet

How many plays do you need to see? He sucked last week as well

everyone yelling for them to run, they run for 9 yards and punt. have to mix it up as Dallas will be stacked against that run.
Disapointed they didn't go for it there at midfield though with Dallas dominating TOP so far

I need to see more then 3 pass attempts, one of which was a wise throwaway. You are NOT being reasonable here
