Flashbacks of 1981. Oh how I love my NFL team spending money in the right areas. I haven't been this happy with the Cowboys 2 starting corner since Everson Walls and Dennis Thurman (most underated Dallas corner ever possibly). I dated myself but I don't care bout that kind of stuff anymore. I am a firm believer that if you have 2 "forgive the phrase because I hate it" shutdown corners that it really frees your defense up to get nasty. Maybe 81 comes to mind because Claiborne is wearing Walls #24. Also very comfortable with Carr out there. While I wish my beloved Cowboys had a big nasty nose tackle to stuff things up. I can live with Raitliff at NT. Get healthy soon! Ware and Spencer will come off the edge with a good pass rush similar to Harvey Martin and Too Tall. I love the 2 PSU inside LBs. Lee and Connor two smart inside LBs that bring back memories of Lewis and Bruenig. Sensabuagh and Church seem to have some Waters and Harris type chemistry. I think the personell is exactly what Ryan needs to succeed.
Also with 1981 comes QB Danny White. Very similar type to Romo, that can put up big numbers but fail in the big games. Great WRs, great RB, and a trusty tight end. More reminders of 81. The O Line still has a ways to go, but I saw improvements Monday night as they handled a great Giants line. Exactly the confidence they needed.
I see a 11-5 type season on the horizon. Now all there is to do is avoid key injuries and avoid running into Joe Montana., Clark, and Solomon in the NFC title game. Yep I am calling my shot. Dallas and San Francisco to decide who represents the NFC in the Super Bowl.
Let's do this Cowboys. Play inspired ball like you did vs the Giants Monday night. It is your time.
Oh it is nice having my cup of coffee and Red Zone channel as kickoff to NFL week 1 Sunday nears. A new hope with it.
