Cowboys Release TO (1 Viewer)

Owens is a HOF lock.

I've got him as, statistically, the #4 WR of all time.

Moss is younger, so by the time Moss is done, I suspect he'll pass TO. But he's in that Alworth/Largent/Harrison/Moss tier of automatics. The only way he doesn't get in first ballot is if he retires the same year as Moss or Harrison, and they choose to only induct one WR that year.
I have a simpler test for Owens' HoF credentials:Hall of FaME

See what you can't spell Hall of Fame without?
What does Hal have to do with this?

Nothing, unless the Hall of Fame has pod bay doors.

The problem with the "Ben wins games. Period." argument is that many others would have won those games.

I have watched him play a ton and I do not think he is a great QB. Sure, he has rings, but so does Trent Dilfer. And the similarities do not stop there.

I think he is on a team with a great defense, a really really good O-line, and a strong rushing game. All he has to do is not lose game to look good.

We can agree to disagree, but get out of town on the 3rd best QB in the league because it just ain't holding water.

He misses reads on long pass plays like you miss your mom. And he cannot hit covered receivers any better than I can hit my toilet.

Trent Dilfer my friend, Trent Dilfer.

[Edited to add that Trent has "ring" not "rings"]
Ask the three Cards defenders as Ben (QB of the 6-time champion Steelers) was threading the needle to Holmes in the back corner of the endzone.

I think Brady is going to put Moss back into the top 3 FF WRs again this year.
Obviously the Pats feel Brady will be fully recovered since they traded Cassel. I hope he gets off to a fast start, but I wonder if he'll struggle for a year. How do you feel about Westbrook after his knee surgery? I don't see him as a top-5 pick this year, given his age and yet another injury. I also don't think the Eagles will overwork him. I wonder what Chase thinks?

Back on topic...

I think TO would say Ben is the 3rd best QB in the league behind Brady and Manning and maybe tied with Brees.

Therefore I think he will end up in New England, Indy or New Orleans...

I think Parcells has really done a great job rebuilding the Dolphins' offensive line in a little over a year. He has turned it into probably one of the Top 16 lines in the league through the draft and FA. And this is a line that was essentially a turnstile for opposing defenses in 2007. For Parcells to get this line revamped in such a short amount of time is damn impressive. They are pretty young too which should be good news for the next 3-4 years as they start to get more comfortable with one another.

Oh... wait. This isn't a discuss your favorite team thread?

Back on topic: Can someone please mention how many SuperBowls have the Steelers won?

Dolphins aren't my favorite team, but I like them. Pennington played great last year but what's the plan for Henne? Will he compete for the starting spot this year? Chase, any input?

I like Cheese

Is Brett Favre coming back?

Obama is the worst President ever to inherit a bad economy

I still like cheese

Admittedly this thread has taken all sorts of wrong turns. But rather than debate splitting it apart, let's just all focus on the actual topic at hand and the thread will self-correct.
