Cowboys Running Game (1 Viewer)

I have Barber on my team and it seems as if Wade Phillips is abandoning the running game even though when Barber does touch the ball he seems to get a decent chunk of yardage. I'm very concerned regarding this phase of the Cowboys offense. Should I be? Will they TRY to establish the running game any time soon? What are your thoughts?

Its bc their oline is banged up....I thought they were missing at least 2 starting olinemen. Not surprising that they start the season 0-2

I think something has to give here. The team would be better off naming a starter and giving him the majority of the work. Who that would be is anybody's guess...

I thought they got those two guys back for week 2? Koshier and Colombo, I think.I, too, am surprised by the lack of run game after last year's dominance. I thought I was getting a steal with Barber as my RB3 in most leagues. Maybe he is a good buy low candidate.
Ya, I just read they played that gm. But I would give this unit another few weeks before they really gel and get 100%.Im not that surprised that their run gm has struggled but I figured at least Felix could make something happen with his wheels. Both of those RB's are nice buy lows at the moment

Next week they play the team that has the #2 rushing defense and the #32 passing defense. So I'd not be looking for the Cowboys to re-establish the run next week.

While I agree the Cowboys will probably come out throwing a lot again I'm not sure the Texans' run defense is all that special. The Colts didn't run much in Week 1 because they fell behind so much and the Redskins offer little in the running game. This could be a good week for Dallas to try and get something going on the ground although I have no reason to believe that will occur.

i think this team is trying to do much with too many on this offense. You dont need to get 3 Tightends involved in the receiving game, you don't need 3 running backs to all touch the ball 5+ times per game and you dont need 4 receiving threats. Just need to relax the off. and go with the game plan. Pound it with Barber sprinkle in Felix constantly for the big play threat, use dez and austin as normal and get witten back heavily involved in the pass game and let the other te's block more. romo has too much on his plate.

I've said this for awhile. RB's need carries to get into a rythym. What does garrett expect from the 3 RB's with 6 carries a piece?

Our run D got a bad rep from the first 4-5 games last year. After that we were pretty solid. I think we are a mid tier defense overall, but our run D is worth avoiding if you are thinking about starting a guy who will likely only get 8-12 carries.
I'd like to see the Texans face a good running team this season before I'd view them as a dangerous start. That said, I wouldn't start Barber or Jones if I could help it against a Division 3 team right now. The only Cowboys I'd start with any confidence right now are Austin, Romo and Bryant. I'd even be leery of Witten and not because of the concussion.

What does Phillips have to do with the offense?
He's the head coach
For 31 other NFL teams being the head coach might mean something but not in big D. Garrett is responsible for this offense not Phillips. Garrett will ultimately answer to Jones not Phillips for it. Phillips is counting his days as HC while running the defense. Nothing more.
Phillips job is safer than Garrett's at this point.
