Seems like he was a good guy and kudos to the Cowboys folks and faithful for helping him and his family. He's lookin' in on the games from up top now.

My first memory when I saw his name just now:

Redskins @ Cowboys, late 70s. Pat Summerall and Tom Brookshire in the booth.

Cut to Crazy Ray in the stands stomping all over this.

RIP

Wow. He died the day after Dolfan Denny.

Denny Sym, Miami Dolphins motivator, dies at 72 March 18, 2007DAVIE, Fla. (AP) -- Denny Sym, aka "Dolfan Denny," who cheered on the Miami Dolphins for 34 years as a one-man sideline show, has died. He was 72. Sym died Friday, his wife Ingrid said. He had been battling kidney disease and cancer for several years. Sym led Miami crowds in cheers and chants in his glittering orange and aqua hat since the Dolphins' first game in 1966, starting in the stands. In 1976, then team owner Joe Robbie asked Denny to move down to the field as the team's official motivator, paying him $50 a game. Sym was the second well-known fan to die recently. Wilford "Crazy Ray" Jones, the boisterous Dallas Cowboys fan who energized crowds for decades with his cowboy getup and sideline cheerleading, died Saturday. He was 76. Sym retired in 2000, saying his age and constant heckling by belligerent fans helped him decide to leave. "He never lost his love for football," Ingrid Sym said.
