Crazy Video of Bikers vs SUV (1 Viewer)

I just heard the wife of the biker who is in the hospital give an interview. She said the SUV driver was profiling blacks and Latinos like they always do.

I guess when you have nothing else to blame...
And they wonder where the bad rep comes from. The black and latino community are screwed by tv interviews like these.

I like to run a few miles a day.

Would even be cool to run with a few friends around the neighborhood.

But if one day, I meet up with 200 friends and have an impromptu marathon disobeying all traffic laws, me and my 199 friends are just dooshes asking for trouble.
Good to hear someone come out strong against marathons. I couldn't agree more.

I am growing to hate bikers more and more.

I used to hate truckers until I started driving 800 miles + a week for a sales job. I learned road courtesy from truckers over time. and it simply involves respect for the other driver. Sure there are some rogues, but a majority are respectful.

Over the years, I can't say that I extend my respect to cycles. Sure there are the GoldWings and Harley riders that have respect, but by far loud bikers, crotch rocket showoffs, and groups of SQUIDs have little to no respect.

A nice, wet cornhole bean bag in the front spokes should do the trick.
Come on now. I find bikers to be annoying - they lane split, they come up on you at 100mph and get pissed when you almost cut them off because you didn't see them... But it's pretty much on the same level as other idiot drivers.

This thing that happened is on a completely different level.
Can we stop calling them bikers...Crotchers maybe? I'm a 35 year old on a 900 pound Harley that feels twice as visible as most of these electric and "Smart" type cars these days. Hopefully people don't see the Gold Wing and touring bikes in the same fashion as these crotch rocket and muscle bikes. How often does a big touring bike sneak up you 30mph faster than the speed limit or fly by you between lanes or on the side of the road?

" But it's pretty much on the same level as other idiot drivers. "

This is the truth, I've only been riding for 2 years and had no idea how bad drivers wereas a whole (auto or bike) until I got on a bike and realized my life depends on those around me as much as it does on my own riding skills. I'm someone that tends to always be going with the traffic in the passing lane or doing 3-5 MPH faster than regular traffic, and I'd say 1 in 5 people I go by are doing something on their phone. Texting while driving in this world has got to stop and little by little drivers as a whole are getting worse and worse when it comes to road rage.

I've got no sympathy for the guy in the coma, he was part of this mob who was out "enjoying a last ride of the season" by acting like they owned the streets and putting everyone's life that they came in contact with in danger. These are not bikers, bikers enjoy the road and their surroundings and respect the power and danger of the bike...these are d-bags trying to act cool and tough and I hope NYC confiscates any bikes they find and suspends their licenses for at least 2 years with 2 years in prison if they're caught riding during that time.
I don't think anyone puts Harley/Goldwing bikers in the same category as crotch rocket riders. And as you pointed out, I don't recall ever seeing someone on a Harley pulling a d1ck move on the road.

DA wont charge bike assault thug in SUV beating

http://nypost.com/2013/10/02/da-wont-charge-bike-assault-thug-in-suv-beating/

The Manhattan DAs office wont press charges against one of the motorcycle thugs who allegedly terrorized and beat a man after a wild chase on the West Side Highway, and is reluctant to prosecute another, sources said Wednesday.

Allen Edwards, 43, of Queens, who allegedly smashed in Alexian Liens rear drivers side window with his fist, surrendered to cops Tuesday morning but will not be charged, the sources said.

The DA declined to prosecute. Look at [The Posts] front page [Tuesday]. Hes there on the motorcycle right next to [Lien] after he got his ### kicked, an angry law enforcement source said.

Video shows Edwards pummeling the rear window of Liens Range Rover, near where his toddler daughter was belted into a child seat, and Lien on the ground with Edwards next to him.

Another source said prosecutors were reluctant to charge a second biker, Christopher Cruz, 28, of Passaic, N.J., who brake-checked the SUV so the bikes could take over the road.

But they relented because of pressure from the NYPD and widespread publicity about the case, and Cruz was charged with endangering the welfare of a child and reckless driving.

The case is weak. It was too early to tell if he committed the crimes he was charged with. It needed much more investigation, the second source said.

Manhattan DA Cy Vances office did not immediately respond to requests for comment on the case.

Police, meanwhile, are zeroing in on two other suspects, including the one who slashed Lien, sending him to the hospital for stitches.

Theyre trying to ID two of the guys. One of them is the main guy. Hes the one that assaulted the victim. On the video, he was wearing the chrome helmet that has a logo of a bird, a third source said.

We have recovered a lot of video new video from bikers who videotaped the ride. One video shows the guy in the chrome helmet ripping the victim out of the SUV. The video then cuts off. [but] we also have a witness who filled in the gaps on what happened next.

The witness, the source said, shows the biker in the chrome helmet throwing the terrified dad to the ground and stomping on his head.

The second suspect being sought also smashed windows on the SUV, the source added. Hes wearing orange and he hit the window of the SUV.

Cops have gotten photos of hundreds of license plates from bridge and tunnel cameras and are trying to identify more of the bikers, who first swarmed Lien, his wife and child on the West Side Highway in Harlem Sunday about 1:30 p.m.

But many of the plates are stolen or belong on different bikes, making it tougher to ID the motorcyclists

The chase was caught on video by a helmet camera worn by one of the bikers who later posted it on YouTube.

Why? Or are they not charging him in exchange for rolling on the slasher?

Well I say its open season on these ####ers from now on, whether these guys get prosecuted or not. If they do, that just means there are 98+ gang members who are getting away. If those ####bags ever surround me, I am going to take out as many as possible.

They're pretty easy to recognize...hey, you wanna be a gang, you get treated like one. Street gangs are smart enough to stay in their hood. Taking this crap onto the public roadways, they're going to meet a lot more people that have seen this video and are going to be scared ####less and willing to do anything to get away from them, and I don't think after this case self-defense will be hard to establish.

I'm not going to take out any random bikers minding their own or even out for a fun ride, but if I find myself in a similar situation as this dude, I will not hesitate in taking as many of these ####ers out as I can.

The other posters are likely correct that prosecutors are gathering more evidence before filing the highest charges that could stick.

So on my drive in, I was listening to Elliot in the Morning, a DC-area morning show. I live in NJ, but stream the show because I've listened since I lived back in the DC area. Anyway, they had a caller who went by the name of "Brooklyn Joe," or something to that effect (not sure if it was Joe or not). Anyway, he claims that the guy who shot the footage was a good friend of his. He said that there was "major" parts of the story not being told. I'm just repeating what he said...

1) Lien was merging onto the highway, and he "sideswiped" a biker. Brooklyn Joe noted that it wasn't "sideswiped" as in hit, which is what I've ALWAYS taken that to mean, but rather that he drove really close to them. He then said that the bikers were trying to get Lien "to pull over to the right lane so they could go by." He said that he didn't condone the acts of the guy who brake-checked him, and he was dumb for doing that.

2) He said that in principle, bikers will all come to a stop and come to the aid of a rider riding with them who has fallen down. He said that was why they ALL stopped in the middle of the highway.

3) He said that when Lien freaked out, it was because everybody was yelling at him to back his car up because it was sitting ON the one guy's leg. They were just telling him to back up. Nobody was violent.

4) Nobody slashed his tires. There's no way an SUV could drive that far with slashed tires.

So...take it for what it's worth, but I think it's all full of crap. He probably came close when merging because these guys were all over the road. I'm not sure why they'd be trying to get him to merge to the right so they could pass when it was a 3-lane road. He also clearly couldn't really change lanes at all because he had bikes on both sides as shown here. I guess maybe they were all yelling at him to back up, but I think it's pretty clear that when you have 50 guys on bikes surrounding you after driving like that, you might be a little on edge. I also don't necessarily buy that he was parked on the guy's leg when he came to a stop. The tires thing should be easy enough to figure out...either they were slashed or they weren't.

I'll end by saying Brooklyn Joe did say that he thought Lien "got what he deserved," so I think that's enough to discredit it all anyway. It just shows the mentality even more clearly. i.e. "This is our road, and if we want you to move over, you move over."
What was Elliot's take since he is a rider?I don't believe a word Joe Brooklyn said. If they were so peaceful and level minded, why were there 200 complaints earlier in the day about them?

Also, I'm curious if the guy who posted the video is getting any blowback from the other riders.
Elliot basically was 100% on the side of Lein. He said that he's taken part in numerous group rides. He admitted that bikers like to ride in a pack, but he said basically that if somebody cuts through your pack to merge, you might not like it, but you just let them go or pass them. It's not a ticket to go postal on them. He also said that anybody who pulls in front of a car on a motorcycle is just asking to be run over and that it's stupid.

Basically, he feels like 99% of bikers out there do - This was stupid, and paints the hobby in a very very bad light. Diane and Tyler obviously felt the same way as non-riders.

Correct. The brake check guy they did not want to charge but did. The window helmet smasher they are looking for. The guy who was hitting the rear window with his fist was the one who turned himself in and will not be charged.

As much as it is wrong to condem the whole group, items like this make it tough not to.

If they were law abiding riders out for a simple ride there would be no need to switch tags. Instead they knew they were going out to break laws and terrorize others and took actions before hand to evade ID'ing

But they relented because of pressure from the NYPD and widespread publicity about the case, and Cruz was charged with endangering the welfare of a child and reckless driving.terrible headline, typical post crap
They relented on Cruz....the brake stop guy...not the helmet window smasher guy.
Correct. The brake check guy they did not want to charge but did. The window helmet smasher they are looking for. The guy who was hitting the rear window with his fist was the one who turned himself in and will not be charged.
And why not?
Because it requires effort?

Ok so now the story is the brake check guy never actually made contact with the RR, but got the guy to stop, then enter our aspiring rapper who got flattened while brake check is trying to get RR to respond from the side of the car?

They need him to roll on the actual assault guy.

This. And the fact that they've said he won't be charged means they likely already have the other guy in custody or at least have his info.

They need him to roll on the actual assault guy.
He'd be wiser taking the charges than to rat out fellow gang members who are so violent and indifferent to the law as to ruthlessly and publicly beat a father in front of his two year old.

I have been caught up in one of these rides here in St. Louis. Only difference was that there were close to 1,000 of these bikes here. Pretty scary stuff when you are caught in the middle of this crap.

Feel for the RR guy and his wife and kid.

The group here in STL wonder why they get such a bad rap and why people in the community hate them. Well, it is because of crap like this. Want to see some other videos youtube ride of the century st. louis.

I will say one positive is that I fully expected to find a bunch of moronic "father was in the wrong" posts in here. My faith in the humanity of FFA is briefly restored.

Read the one quote from his stupid a@@ mom, says if the driver of suv would have just stopped none of this eould have happened. Yeah mom, its normal to come to a complete stop on an expressway. And by the way dip sh@@ he was stopped. Guess we know where hets his brains from.
Based on what I've read and seen, my interpretation of this (which might be wrong) is that he came on the highway and tried to merge mid-stream in the "rally". The bikers didn't appreciate this so one decided to start playing games and brought him to a forcible and sudden stop on the highway. In doing this, the SUV clipped (I interpret this as lightly hit) the motorcycle that forced him to stop. At this point other bikers stopped and began beating his car with their helmets and slashing his tires. One of them attempted to open the door (this happens again at the second stop so I'm a little unclear if it happened twice or the article is screwing up the chornology) and he took off running over Miese. Miese's family claims he was helping the cyclist who was clipped but I find that unlikely if it was really a light hit. More likely Miese was one of the goons assaulting the car.
This... +1

And Lawrence, Mass is a scumbag town...
Yes, yes it is. I'm from around that area and remember one summer in the early 90s when arsonists would burn down a building every night in Lawrence. Here's a taste of Meezee's hometown from 2012 -- "Lawrence, MA: City of the Damned"....

"Times are hard in the states poorest city. The mayor is under federal and state investigation for campaign-finance improprieties and other questionable behavior, while a state-appointed overseer is managing the citys municipal budget. Lawrences public school system is in receivership the former superintendent, Wilfredo Laboy, is under criminal indictment for fraud and embezzlement, and the high school dropout rate is more than 50 percent. Public-safety cuts have been drastic, and felony crimes have skyrocketed from 1,777 in 2009 to 2,597 during the first 11 months of 2011. Unemployment is as high as 18 percent, compared with the state average of less than 7 percent. With 76,000 people squeezed into 6.93 square miles, violent crime on the rise, and a public school system thats the worst in the state, the once-proud Immigrant City has become an object lesson in how to screw things up."

After seeing the guy in the coma, the only way that would make this outcome better would be for his parents to get a call saying their son wasn't going to make it and they needed to come down to the hospital. As they are walking to the hospital, not able to hold back their tears for losing their son, Mr. Lien's SUV backs up over them and runs them over, leaving them paralyzed from the waist down and in comas.

Though Mieses is a Massachusetts resident, he has never had a valid Massachusetts driver’s license for a passenger vehicle and has never applied for a motorcycle license, the Registry of Motor Vehicles said.

Registry records show that Mieses applied for a learner’s permit in 1999 and 2000, but that he never obtained a full license because he failed to pay fines imposed after he was ticketed for speeding in Lawrence in 1999. His last contact with the Registry was in 2001, when he obtained an identification card, registry records show.

Since 1999, he has been ticketed by police 16 times, in Lawrence, Methuen, Roxbury, Andover, and New Hampshire, according to registry records.

In June, the Registry notified the National Driver Register that Mieses was a habitual traffic offender whose right to drive in Massachusetts was revoked until 2017, records show.

You'd think after the 10th time, they would just throw him in jail for driving without a license.

I can't go a week without seeing Mayor Lantigua or the police chief, Romero, on the local news.
