This weekend has been overshadowed by the BHs(well deserved)

Both teams are awful

My prediction(wind blowing out)

Cubs: 0

Sox: 0

because they both suck that much

Went to the game last night. Had absolutely no clue Lilly had a no no through 8 until a bunch of guys around us noted it in the 9th in the pouring rain.

Great game in an otherwise forgettable season.

I too went last night

Hawks brought the cup out and paraded around the field, letting some fans actually touch the cup. The place went nuts when Jim Cornelison sang the national anthem.........all of this, and they still played the game. Two friggen no hitters late? Don't know if it was because both pitchers were on their games, or that both teams just really suck. Doesn't really matter, because last night was one magical night.

:goosepimples:

I wore a Cubs T-shirt to work, so this oughtta be humiliating.

Anyone know why the Sox bothered to call up Viciedo? Not in the lineup again today.

Carlos Zambrano put Friday's first game of the weekend City Series at U.S. Cellular Field out of reach in the first inning, and then exploded in the dugout, engaging in a shouting match with Derrek Lee.A three-run homer by Carlo Quentin put the White Sox ahead 4-0 and sent Zambrano into a rage. He had a heated dugout exchange with Derrek Lee, smashed a Gatorade cooler, and was done for the day.Tom Gorzelanny replaced Big Z in the second after Lou Piniella sent Zambrano to timeout."He was ranting and raving and was out of control," Piniella said. "I had a conversation with our general manager (Jim Hendry) and we'll see what we do. But we just couldn't tolerate that. We just told him to go back in (to the clubhouse). Even though our bullpen was really short because we played 13 innings yesterday, those guys sucked it up and did a great job."We can't tolerate that. I'm embarrassed, he should be embarrassed. He's going to have to apologize to his teammates, that's for darn sure. We've got our share of problems, we don't need those. I sent him home, yes."According to a WMAQ-Channel 5 report, Zambrano launched into a profanity-laden tirade at local cameramen after they filmed him leaving the Sox parking lot during the game. The station plans to air the incident on Friday evening's newscast.

The Cubs suspended pitcher Carlos Zambrano indefinitely Friday following his outburst in the dugout after the first inning of the White Sox's 6-0 victory at U.S. Cellular Field.

"His conduct was not acceptable," Cubs general manager Jim Hendry said. "It has become a bit of a tired act."

Hendry said he spoke briefly with Zambrano, who was sent home during the game by manager Jim Piniella, but didn't indicate whether the pitcher apologized for his actions.

"We had a very short conversation, there wasn't a lot of time for apologies," Hendry said.

Couldn't happen to a better guy or team. :goodposting:

Yuppers...Zambrano's contract:

08:$15M, 09:$17.75M, 10:$17.875M, 11:$17.875M, 12:$18M, 13:$19.25M vesting player option

full no-trade clause

I don't think anyone will take on that contract. Will the Cubs eat that much money?

I don't know what else they could do. No other team would want him, especially with this latest performance. B/w him and AS, the cubs are paying almost 38m in salary this year.
