Cueto (1 Viewer)

Right at this moment he's not a reliable start unless perhaps he's at home against a really weak offense. Have you guys been keeping hold of him hoping he gets into a groove or have you been dumping him? Many had invested a high waiver pick in the guy so you don't want to dump him to have someone else snap him up and see him start to light people up. He's not looking good right now though, especially with his recent 8 walk fiasco. What's the consensus here, especially if it is a fairly deep league, and why?

Been trying to buy him and will continue to do so.
Why the confidence? Just trying to figure this out as he has been so up and down and had major control issues in his last outing. He'd had a few quality starts right before that but his 8 walks did a real number on my WHIP. I haven't been able to pull the trigger on starting him tonight and the major issue is Jeff Kent. If I don't start Cueto, Kent will strike out 4 times along with many of his teammates and my OBP will take a hit. If I do start him, Kent will go 4-4 with a couple of round-trippers and a mittful of RBI's. Does seem like a decent matchup though as the Dodgers haven't exactly been lighting it up offensively lately.

The HR #'s are an issue, his control in his last outing was unacceptable. That said, these are small sample sizes we're talking about, Cueto's in a funk right now, having typical rookie problems with major league hitters catching up to him - I see it as a perfect buy low opportunity, assuming I can afford to burn a bench spot on him until he figures it out. I believe he will figure it out at some point, when? Don't know, but I'd be betting on sooner over later. He's got filthy stuff and has the numbers to prove he can dominate, it may take a trip back to AAA to get his confidence back but the guy can pitch.Assuming he comes cheap (he may even be available for free) and you can bench him for the time being I'd be buying, same thing I was doing with Liriano in April.
