due to my league's incredibly flawed scoring system(1 pt per completion) C-pep scored 27 points today. I played the manning owner(scored 15) so it looks like im gonna survive this disaster

one of my league i do not get - PTs for INT or FUMB. he scored me 20 PTs in that league, 10 in the other 2

11 interceptions in each of the past two seasons.8 so far this year - in two games.Burleson limping off the field?Somebody put the Culpepper owners on suicide watch.It all starts with the O-Line... and apparently it may end there for the ViQueens this year.

Thats funny, other than Jburb26(I think thats his name) and maybe 2 or 3 others, I was completely alone when I told everyone in the offseason that this would happen. Yet several people accused me of fishing and/or called me an idiot. Wonder where those people are now? See my sig for links to all of those threads.
 
Hey FBG, can you admit now that you put Culpepper at #2 to throw off the masses while you secretly avoided him? I mean, I know you guys are way better than to have invested heavily in Culpepper. OK, perhaps one or two of you drinking the Kool-Aid is cool. But a lot of you just hurts. :bag:

And #2 ranking QB for him was was probably the worst ranking in the history of this site's rankings, IMO. Not because of how it will turn out. But because he was just so clearly not deserving of that much respect given all the changes. I suspect it could be groupthink or the undesirability of respecting Moss and having been wrong about it. But hey, give the man his props where he deserves them. His presence has more effect on an NFL offense than any other non QB in the league, and more than almost all the QBs, too. I would hope you have some sort of discussion, publicly or privately, to understand why you made this huge mistake, and doing something to prevent such mistakes in future rankings. Or, just let us in on the hoax. ;)

If you think it was not a result of a flawed process, then great. But at least check on it...

I only suggest this while at the same time acknowledging your overall dominance of FF sites and your willingness to keep pushing things to the next level. There is no other site I would even think of suggesting something that requires such an unusual level of commitment. Props with hopefully constructive criticism, no matter how much sarcasm I put in it. :yes:

just to give credit where its due, this guy was also saying the same thing I was all offseason. He is one of those 2 or 3 I spoke of.

I was with you - took a bashing in my projections threads as people told me I was WAY too low on Culpepper, with just 22 passing TDs. I didn't take the sig bet because I'm too superstitious, and didn't want to jink Collins in a bad way. I also have a thread somewhere touting MIN under 9.5 wins at even money as a great bet to make, and again, took heat from many here. The funny thing is that it was so easy to see - you could see what Moss did to other QB's numbers, and we could see what TO did to QBs numbers, but people refused to think that Culpepper would tumble without Randy.

Perhaps best of all is ESPN the magazine. They picked the Vikings to win the Superbowl. They did a whole article about Culpepper, and repeatedly mentioned "The Distraction" and how much better things will be without "him". Up yours, ESPN!

Starting next week, Culpepper rides the bench until he does something good on the football field. :hot:

Here's my thoughts on Pep. I think everyone should not panic. No QB in the league, especially one with the talent he has is that bad. He looks like he has no rhythm back there cuz his offensive line is terrible. It should improve hopefully with some time. I think there is no way Pep becomes the QB#2 but there's no way you can trade him for low. And unless you have a stud backup there's not much you can do. He'll definately finish in the top 10 this year. Anybody who think otherwise is nuts. So best case scenario he turns it around. Worse case scenario he plays bad but he should still put up top 10 #s and maybe you can play matchups with him and your backup. Im sticking it out with him for 1 more week (vs NO) and if he stinks it up again I'll play matchups with him and my backup (Plummer). He still put up 19 pts in my league this week (thankfully no negative pts. for turnovers).

Yep, he had 16 in my league. It can't get much worse than this, and he STILL managed passable fantasy numbers. Don't get hosed into trading him for nothing this week.

Culpepper got 6 points in my league-which seems about right. Still, in real NFL terms I think Manning had a better game than Culpepper, yet Manning only tallied 2 points in my league.

I hope you are right. The INTs have to stop. Lucky for me in 1 league I don’t get -PTs for INTs but the other 2 leagues I get -2 PTs. Minus 10 PTs could mean the difference in a win and lose.

Moore should be the starting RB. If the Viking could stop hurting them selves, Culpepper should be able to turn it around and put up some good fantasy #s. Last week they had 2 passing TDs called back because of penalties.

I don't know how you score, but in our league Palmer was worth 19 points and Daunte worth 8. That's a huge difference. Palmer has 29 points on the year. Daunte has 8.

Considering where they were drafted I would have a hard time saying you are getting good "value" for Daunte. "He is a huge talent and will turn it around rather quickly" is an opinion backed up by no evidence.

Next week he will have the same OC, the same O-line and one less reciever to work with. Why should we believe next week will be any different? The one reason you cited "talent" is constant as well. In order for a different outcome something has to change, what is changing?

Not by itself, no. But keep in mind, Culpepper is adapting to his new offense, which almost always takes time. At least a few of those INTs looked like he expected the WR to make a play that (go figure) a top WR could have or the WR to zig instead of zag. On others, he was simply trying too hard. If Minnesota can establish the running game, and keep the score close, he wouldn't have thrown a couple of those. FWIW, I just made offers in most of my leagues for him. two rejections, without a counter. The offers were Marc Bulger and Chris Brown for CPep, and Bulger and Thomas Jones for CPep (I have Bulger in two leagues)

Think that's bad?Someone in my league drafted Culpepper #6 overall. He's now trying to unload him on his brother, who is a first time FF player.I waited until the 7th round to draft a qb, and while most of the elite were gone, I still managed to take Hasselbeck.Great value, and it allowed be to load up at WR and RB.I refused to drink the Kool Aid this year and draft a qb in the first two rounds. Now it's paying off.So far.

I haven't started him since week 2. Made a trade for Bledsoe, and picked up McNair off the waiver wire, and will ride these two QBs the rest of the season, hopefully.This is a dynasty league, otherwise I may have already dropped Culpepper. Looking forward, I'll probably grab Schaub next week and stash him for the future.

 
I wasn't going to play him against Chicago as I figured he'd have a rough day.I was planning to start him for the next few weeks, but I'm just not sure anymore. :unsure:I'm holding out hope that he bounces back, but it may not be this year.

This is a dynasty league, otherwise I may have already dropped Culpepper. Looking forward, I'll probably grab Schaub next week and stash him for the future.

i think people fail to see that the 2 worst things that happened to Cpeps progress is: 1: Scott Linehan 2: Matt Birk obviously moss hurts some but i would rate those 2 other losses more severe.

He plays the Pack. The Pack D tore the sh it out of the Aints last week. It could be a good pickup. Should be a fun game to watch in the dome...

They really don't need Reggie Bush. Before anyone screams at me for being :loco: , I understand that Moore isn't as talented as Bush, but it won't matter if the Vikings don't get help on the line. They are actually ok with Fason/Moore/Whiz for RB, but that line rivals Detroit's and Houston's. I'm not sure this will bring "respectability", but it's a start.

Let me rephrase the first part. Reggie Bush isn't their BIGGEST need.

This is getting dangerously close to another topic. ;) You're right, but as much as I like Bush, Leinart is going to be the top pick.

Then again, they need OL as much or more than Minnesota, so do they take Ferguson? Is that your point?
