Curry v Jordan (1 Viewer)

Curry would still be great in any era, Jordan would hold him to 10 less than his average everytime they played.

It would be one hell of a matchup.  I don't think Curry is even in his prime.  Jordan in his prime was straight up ridiculous though.

No need to shoot 3s when you can score within 15 at will.  Curry is getting there.  He's truly blessed with his 3 point ability.

Really awkward release but the way he releases makes it easier for him to avoid defenders.  Dude drains 3s with other ayers draped over him.

Curry has the record for consecutive games with a 3 pointer.  It's to the point where you can't defend it unless you double team him all game.

He's hitting like 45% beyond 30 ft.  Jordan can't defend that.  Jordan would destroy Curry in the paint and inside the 3.

One on one, I'd take Jordan 60% of the time.  40% of the time, Curry will lose Michael enough to drain a ####load of 3s.

The only awkward thing about his release is that it is too damn fast to even really see what it looks like unless you use slo mo.  Once you do, you see there is nothing awkward about it.

Yes, Curry is in his prime.  WTF?

His release is picture ####### perfect.  There was a vine floating around in the fall from the GSW practice facility that slo-mo'd it.  Had it on my phone to show my players when I couldn't explain what I was talking about.

A lot of people in that era could slow Steph down significantly.

You could put your hands on people then.

Hand checking would change Steph into a less effective option.  Not an ineffective option, but nothing like what you see here.

Jordan's been in like what... One movie? And all he had to do was act opposite Bugs Bunny. How can you compare that to the range and diversity of an actor like Tim Curry? Dumb thread.

I don't know what was crazier about tonight's game? Iguudala hitting 2 free throws at the end of regulation or Steph darning the 3 in OT

Jordan is like 50 years old now. Curry at this point in time would demolish him.

Both at their peak playing days, Jordan hands down. Does Curry even have an inside game? Post? Turn around? Jordan would take him to school and it's not even be funny.

Curry is obviously a once in a generation player, but the game is soft right now. I do wonder how he would have fared against rougher teams.

The OP was not talking about one in one.  The is zero chance Jordan could stop Curry even at his peak.   What Curry is doing is unprecedented.   Really unbelievable.

He left the game on the only physical contact he took the whole game.

In the era of hand checking and forearms (ie shoving), and no easy layups - this Curry doesn't exist.

Of course there is nothing anyone can do about that, and this is fun as hell to watch.

Yea and that made for an awful product with a lot of terrible players having far too much influence on the games.

I don't see how that would impact his three point shooting that much.
Ever played an older dude that puts his hands on your hip, forearm in your back?

The only frustrating thing about watching Curry do this, is that it is obvious the rules favor it.  You can't touch him, much less get your hands on his hips, forearms, that little shove to push him further over the screen and buy you time to get around.

There is zero physical play out there.. there is a guy standing in front of him with his hands up, trying to "challenge" from 4 feet away.  Very very different from pre '97 ('98? whenever).

Yea and that's the only physical contact he's had in his whole career too. Why, that was the first time he's ever attempted to drive the lane!

Chris Paul is a physical player now and tries to body Curry when they play. Doesn't do a whole lot.

Wasn't questioning his toughness.

And no.. nobody is physical on the perimeter today. (relative to previous eras).

It could hurt his ability to drive which hurts his ability to get space for a jump shot. It makes it tougher to move without the ball and get open for a jump shot. Also, it wears players down physically and mentally.

Would like to see how Curry would do against the Bad Boy Pistons and the Chicago Bulls of that era. The defense that the Pistons and Bulls played was incredibly physical...but that was allowed.  There is no doubt Curry would knock down open jumpers but right now nobody can put a hand on him or body him at all.  Jordan and Pippen, Thomas, Dumars and Vinnie Johnson all played very physical defense. With them rotating on Curry it would be much tougher.

What will you never see happen against Curry?
