Boston recommendations anyone? (1 Viewer)

Trip coming together. Sort of snuck up on me as less than a month away and hadn't booked anything so got to it today. Only miss so far was wanted to get dinner at Carmelina's in the North End as Mrs. Smails loves linguine and clams and I know they crush it there. Very tough table selling out months in advance. Oh well. Grabbed a good backup. Here's the outline so far - just need to fill it in. Don't have any lunches planned thinking just go with the flow. Not sure if Chinatown is worth it for lunch. Any can't miss lunch spots? Need to find a great sports bar to watch games on Sunday in case my Patriot connection doesn't come through for the Steelers game. Mrs. Smails not big time into museums so doubt we'll do those (or the Aquarium). Does this itin look decent? Looking back at some of the recommendations now - anything I'm gonna regret leaving out? I can fit in a harbor cruise, duckboat tour etc if worth it. We plan on walking around a lot so I'm sure we'll stumble into other neighborhoods etc. No plans yet to get to Cambridge or anywhere else outside of the city proper.

Bummer missing out on the Carmelinas reservation. We were in Boston for a couple of nights 2 weeks ago for the first time and Carmelinas was one of the best Italian meals I’ve ever had. Super reasonably priced for the quality and quantity as well. I can’t compare it to other places in the North End, but I highly recommend for anyone that can get a reservation.

Had a fantastic trip in Boston. Loved staying in Seaport. First night walked to Yankee Lobster. Phenomenal clam chowder and a hot buttered lobster roll to set the tone. Other food highlights - hit up Pizzeria Regina before the Eric Church concert. Line was long as suggested. So got it to go then walked to the lobby of the Courtyard across from TD Garden. It was perfect as they had an Eric Church party going on. Mechanical Bull, great playlist. Buckets of beers. Pizza was great. Isabella was sensational. Had the lobster and shrimp fra diavalo. So so good. Sandwiches at Pauli’s where DDD filmed. Next time I’ll try Monica’s - guide said top 10 Italian sandwiches in the country. Modern Pastry - many rank higher than Mike’s. The ricotta cannoli with almonds was recommended by the owner and it was food coma worthy. We ate most of our meals in the North End - why not? Lots of Oktoberfest celebrations around town so stopped in to drink beer and listen to some cool live bands.

Concert was great. Really liked TD Garden as a venue though as a Laker fan pained me to be in enemy territory. We did the Freedom Trail walk. Very informative guide who was a history buff and writer at the Boston Globe. Learned a lot. Loved the Fenway tour. Sitting on top of the Green Monstah was surreal. Duck Tour was OK. Guide tried with 3rd rate comedy. You get out into the water which was fun but the rest of it is a faster rehash of the Freedom Walk.

Weather was fantastic. Perfect time of year to go. Love the city

I'm glad Boston didn't let you down. Yeah, it was definitely a perfect weather weekend.

I don't blame you at all for eating in the North End as much as possible. I would too if a could. A drawback of living in the suburbs.
