Customized Online Auction Draft Site? (1 Viewer)

My in person auction draft is suppose to be this Saturday in Houston but there seems to be a hurricane that wants to get in the way of things.  This weekend has been planned for a couple months now so it's going to be very hard to reschedule, especially with the amount of people in the league.  I know auction drafts can be done on Yahoo and ESPN but those are pretty limited to their our specific settings I believe and our league is different than most.  We get $100 and only auction the first 10 rounds then snake the last 6 rounds.  We don't need a site to host the league since the draft results always get imported into MFL but it would be great to have an online auction since we may not all be able to meet.

Does such a site exist that allows you to nominate and bid on players with a timer and lets you customize the settings?

Would a website like gotomeeting.com work and just run our auction like we were all together I wonder?  We've never run into this before so there's a bit of chaos at the moment.

We have used a combination of Google Docs and a conference call in prior years.  Last year we moved to Google Hangouts to handle the conferencing as owners could participate in the 'call' by phone or by using their PC mic & speakers.

Our Google spreadsheet has a main nominations tab that the owner will add the player to, then after the auction is won, we list the winning team and winning bid.

The main tab also tracks current dollars spent per team, cap & spots remaining & max bid.

This is accomplished by winning players added to their specific team on a separate tab.  It works great because multiple people can update the doc in real time so the commish doesn't have to do all the work.

Good luck buddy, that sucks. I believe you can customize an ESPN auction, and its free. It doesn't cost anything to check it out.

Did this for my draft to accommodate someone who couldn't make it in person. Used Skype and had a laptop dedicated to just Skype. Worked well but there is a small lag, so auctioneers will need to be mindful of that lag and everyone will have to agree to accommodate for possible missed bids. Connection dropped once and we didn't know until the people on the phone called to say reset. We just went back to the bidding that was happening when they dropped and again, as long as all owners are okay with accommodating, it was better than trying to mess with an online draft room imo.

It's a 24 team league with two separate drafts.  They are currently doing the first draft right now since most of them don't have work today due to the weather.  The second draft will be next week and most likely I'll just be doing it over the phone.

We used Facetime for a guy a couple years ago.  He had a person sitting there for him also.  It worked but it's not ideal.  Certainly better than not drafting at all.

Whatever you do, DON'T use MFL.   They are horrible.  Beyond horrible.  Our online action draft last year was a virtual shiit show on mfl.  We almost had to cxl our league for the year.
