Cutler out week 5. Collins in (1 Viewer)

Not surprised. Cutler looked like he had just gotten beaten up for 10 rounds in a heavyweight boxing fight. You don't come back from that that quickly.

Wow, Welcome Max Hall to my starting lineup.

Other QB's are Cutler, Vick and Big Ben.

Still will roll with the unknown in Hall instead of the known in Collins.

i was just debating between Panthers D and CHI D...hmmmm...
I would go with Chicago's D. I think the Panthers D can have a good game, but Chicago's D is more experienced, and the Panthers are starting a rookie QB along with 2 rookie WRs. I think Peppers is going to have fun against his former team.

Clausen's just going to be handing the ball off all day anyway.

Hanie looked a lot better.
 How do the Bears not start Hanie? Collins looked awful last week. At least Hanie tries, Collins looked like he wanted to be back on the sideline holding his clipboard and collecting his free paycheck.

The play here for you guys with QB problems is to pick up Shawn Hill from Detroit at home vs. St. Louis , or Bruce Gradkowski from the Raiders playing a poor San Diego pass defense. I have lost Stafford and Vick and am starting Hill with confidence.

Bears really painted themselves into a corner IR'ing Hunter Hillenmeyer who was a union steward and concussion awareness advocate. Now they look like total hypocrites if they rush Cutler back.

Lovie Smith doesnt like to overreact to anything. He has shown an uncharacteristicly quick trigger finger on poor performance this year, perhaps will see Caleb in the 2nd half. :lmao:

Tood Collins is the worst 2nd String QB in the NFL. Bears decision making a big  like always

Even with Cutler out, Does it make sense to start Carolina D? It's not like they're a stud D.
The New York Giants D scored something like 3 points the week before Chicago. Carolina has to be one of the top-ranked teams for this week only. The Bears line literally can't stop anything. Of course, I say that, but against GB they looked like a totally different unit.I'm rolling with San Fran against Philly but also thinking of making the swap.

Pretty solid posting here. Have to imagine both of these guys are available on most waivers and make nice starts this week.

i only carry Brady as my QB, so i picked up Hill. would have added Bradford or Gradkowski, but my opponent this week is starting Calvin and Best. Here's to hoping for only passing TDs from the Lions on Sunday.

Same boat here! With my Steelers D on Bye Week, Currently going with Atlanta D vs CLE but thinking about switching to Carolina D because of this situation. Also just picked up Shaun Hill to start instead of Cutler as my QB.

picked up panthers D. Collins is terrible.

What do you think this does to Forte? he has a tough time when D has to respect the pass, does this pretty much kill his productivity?

I know Collins is a bad QB, but if you are in a two QB league it IS a Martz system. Carolina might have a decent D backfield, but they have little pass rush - and THAT'S the key in a Martz offense. Give Collins some time with that system and so long as you arent too penalized for INTs, you could certainly do worse for a bye week filler and if Cutler is out longer, Martz's system should at least give him a fighting chance for ok numbers.

Unfortunately my league allows a 2nd QB to start at SuperFlex, so with no Cutler, Vick, Big Ben, the WW choices are between Hall and Collins. EUREKA, in typing this thread it made my double check the WW and wow and behold I was never so excited to see Ryan Fitzpatrick as a 3rd option. Given that Fitzy is prone to running and the Bills should play a bit better after the embarrassing NYJ "no show", I think that Sunday's pecking order is:FitzHallCollins

fbg rankings are very high on fitz fwiw.

anyway, i thought cutler faked this concussion. is he still faking? proly scared to play amirite haters.

For years, the worst words to hear as a Panthers fan has been "backup quarterback". I don't know what it is, but it seems like everytime we play a backup, they kill us.

They watch them everyday in practice. You've seen Collins for less than 2 quarters this year, and Hanie for 5 plays.I would say they have more information than you which QB is better prepared to start and execute the offense.

Panthers held the Saints to 16 points last week so its not like they are terrible to begin with. Not to mention they are playing at home and are desperate for a win. I'll take the Panthers this week over the Bears D. But both should have good games.

Walking to the wrong sideline, standing in the pocket unordinarily long, not throwing the football, and getting your head banged against the turf with no arm to brace yourself is faking it???Yeah, i'm sure Chicago is trying to save face for Cutler by keeping him out this week so his pride is better

Did not know he went to the wrong sideline (did that once myself. Then again, it was the ancient late '80s, maybe '90 and got the ol - Koya, you ready? get back in there" response. Might explain a lot)

The Panthers always play the Saints well. I guess it's the familiarity.

I actually passed on both of these guys and grabbed Ryan Fitzpatrick. Playing at home against the Jags I beleive is a better matchup.

I'd say you'd have to know next to nothing about the Bears to make this statement.Allow me to throw a few names at you:Peter Tom WillisWill FurerErik KramerShane MathewsCade McNownHenry BurrisRick MirerJonathan QuinnCraig KrenzelChad HutchinsonIf there is a team who has demonstrably and repeatedly proven that they know nothing about evaluating QBs, it is the Chicago Bears.

You forgot Kordell Stewart, although easil mistaken with Henry Burris

I intentionally left him off lest people think we actually got him when he was decent. He was part of the "Dying QB Tour" along with Chris Chandler and Brian Greise.
