D-Jax Outlook for the Rest of the Season (1 Viewer)

What's your outlook for D-Jax for the rest of the year?

Some will say that Branch reduces his value because Branch will get a greater share of the pie. Some will say Branch increases his value because D-Jax will have fewer double-teams. I think the addition of a better WR2 has usually no significant impact on the WR1. And no, I don't think Branch becomes WR1.

The main issue is D-Jax's knee. It was a concern early, but the concerns have mostly gone away in the last two weeks. He looks healthy, but he's probably still more an injury risk than guys like Plax, Chambers, Driver, S Moss, etc.

The O-Line has some problems. I am not sure that it will affect D-Jax as much as S Alexander's yardage and Hasselbeck's turnovers.

So overall I am quite bullish on D-Jax going forward and I would rank him higher than where he's at in the top 250 forward list from Dodds (WR17). Before the season, I believe his ADP and FBG consensus ranking was about 13-15. I think D-Jax is worth more today than 3-4 weeks ago. If we all had to draft today, I think his ADP would be top 10.

If you knew Jackson would play the rest of the year then I believe he would be a top 10 WR.. However, we know that won't be the case.. He will get hurt again or the knee that already is hurt will sideline him. .thus making him not top 10..

Well, if you say so.

Imo, His outlook doesnt change at all with Branch joining the starting lineup - if anything, it improves because Branch is more of a deep threat than Engram.

:goodposting: I think what's worrying most people is that they think Branch will recieve more targets than D-Jax which to me, is not the case at all. Especially because Hassellbeck has such a rapport with D-Jax. The timing is already there, where as with branch, that's going to take a while.

I agree with your assesment. I am in the camp that Branch helps D-Jax similar to how Robinson helped him when he was there. A strong #2 always helps the #1 (see. Fitzgerald, Harrison). I also agree that with now knee concerns heading into the season Jackson would have been a top 10 pick at wr. It does appear as if he is healthy. If Jackson were to get hurt who is the insurance besides Branch? Engram or Burleson?

Engram is worth holding more than Burleson - who is now an afterthought and barely rosterable in most leagues. I'm starting to think the Branch trade had more to do with 2007 and beyond than Jackson's condition this year. Expect Jackson to be on a new team next year - there's already a good amount of acrimony between him and Seahawks, and his not practicing this summer might have had something to do with that :tinfoilhat:

This might be true, actually. As for this season, though, I think Branch/Jackson makes a great combo and both will put up some healthy numbers.
