D Williams (1 Viewer)

It's hard to say.

After a big game earlier this year when he got most of the playing time over a healthy Foster, Fox went back to Foster the following week and Williams got very few touches. It's a big risk move as Fox is playing this close to the vest and is loyal (to a fault) to his vets.

P.S. Going back and forth with Deangelo and Edge at RB #2 today. :wall:

I like him this week. Giants give up lots of run yards and with Delhomme out, Panthers will run, run, run... and with his success last week, he will get lots of carries.

Foster's start is a coutesy one, at best (you know, can't lose you start to an injury, etc..), and the word here was that he was destinied to be demoted soon, anyway. Panthers will probably look to trade Foster at the end of the season, but they are still in a playoff fight... so there will be no room for "showcasing" him in this game. The first sign of Foster struggling, Williams will be the man.

Having said all that, though, I was able to pick up Cedric Benson this week and will start him over Williams.

So Foster is slotted to start for sure? I guess for those of us who have to pick one of the two, the starter is the safer play. As history has shown, Fox sticks with his starter. But again, I'm unsure, is Foster for sure the GT starter?

Your sig is one of the funniest things I've read in a long time. I can't believe Mr. Furley posted that.By the way, I'm struggling whether to start D Williams or Watson in the flex.

Haha yeah Furley is a tool. I'm sticking with Williams over Foster, Lundy, and Reggie Williams and over Caddy in another. Figure he's got the best shot for a great game.

ugh...

I can start D. Williams or W. McGahee. Neat choice there. I'm gonna go with Williams because he's healthy and also because the reason why Foster wasn't playing wasn't because he couldn't run - it was because he couldn't block. At all. I have to think that with a new QB under center, Carolina will want max protection and if Foster is even slightly altered in his ability to block, Williams will get the lionshare today.

Of course, this is just what I'm telling myself to feel better.

also because the reason why Foster wasn't playing wasn't because he couldn't run - it was because he couldn't block. At all.
 Where did you get this info from? Foster wasn't playing because he had a hyperextended elbow. Foster blocks better than Williams, although Williams is improving with that.

Too much is made about RB blocking in this forum. That aside, Carolina won't be throwing much today, so pass blocking by either Foster or Williams is moot.

The answer to where he got his info, is actually in your post. What joint in your arm, do you need to have reasonably healthy, to be able block adequately?

Foster is completely healthy, so I don't see why Williams would be a better blocker.

Carolina is not going to rely on their running game to win. They will have to throw to have a chance at winning.

We know Foster is now healthy enough to play, but do we know for sure that the hyperextended elbow is 100%?

That was very surprising play calling. Not really what I expected with a QB change. I thought there would be at least 40 run plays, the game wasn't THAT out of hand?
