***Dallas at WFT -1 (45)*** Game Thread (1 Viewer)

Serious question.  When a QB is sprinting full speed at a 1st down marker and a defender is sprinting at them to try and stop them, and the QB decides to slide on the play, what percentage of the time do they end up getting hit in the head?  80%?  90%?  It happens virtually every time on those bang/bang plays at the sticks.  Maybe every defender in the league just wants hit guys in the head and give up a 1st down and get ejected from the game and fined by the league, or maybe sliding in that scenario naturally creates major contact to the head area.
A:  It's not that high of a percentage.
B:  It has nothing to do with that.  It has to do with this play.  Say what you want about those other 80/90% of them, this was one of the most avoidable ones I've ever seen.

Maybe I'm projecting on this particular play since I've wanted the QB slide eliminated for a long time because of what it causes.  But in general if you got rid of the QB slide there would be far fewer QB head injuries.  Is that even debateable?
