McCarthy better prep them well to defeat the Bucs or he should be gone. We all know he won't be though. Jerruh loves to keep underachieving coaches about 2 to 3 seasons too long.

Losing Steele was the biggest loss among the many losses on both sides. Run game looks anemic behind what's left of the line.

Think they lose to the bucs by 10+

Conspiracy theory tells me this team just laid down and didn't try that hard. They knew they were going to go on the road with the Eagles playing the c-team of the Giants.

Dak is not THAT bad- holy hell

We better be ready for all the dinking and dunking Brady will do to get the ball out quickly until he can air it out to Evans. Historically we get mauled by huge backs.

Im not confident nor am I getting my hopes up.

I'm rooting for the Eagles and Cowboys to meet in the NFCCG. My playoff tickets would go for a mint if the Cowboys are the opponent.

The Cowboys haven't won a road playoff game since the Jacksonville Jaguars franchise was started, the internet had moving gifs, or the Simpsons was first on TV.

It's not happening this week. Not with this team in this shape. Going to be another spectacular flameout. I've got my popcorn ready.

So, I don't think anyone believes SF is losing to Seattle and Minny should* beat the Giants which would mean we'd play the winner of TB and Cowboys. I guess its possible that the Giants win in Minnesota and Dallas beats TB. In that scenario we would have to beat NYG for a third time (I think that is definitely doable) and Dallas would have to win in SF (doubtful). I agree though, that would be a game that would break sports talk radio.

Just an observation. The Cowboys D isn't as fast on real grass as they are on the plastic/rubber stuff.
Next week in Tampa. Natural grass. Thick...deep....rich natural grass.
Cowboys record on home turf this year: 8-1
Cowboys record on road turf this year: 3-0
Cowboys record on road grass this year: 1-4

Your observation is correct

They're playing the 8-9 winners of the worst division in football. They'll be fine.

Giants beating the Vikings in certainly doable. Records aside, the Giants only lost to them by 3 when they played a few weeks ago, in a game that if the Vikings didnt kick a 61 yard FG as time expired would have gone to OT.

As much as I’d like to argue the point, take the above and couple it with the Cowboys natural ability to play their worst when it matters most- Tampa Bay is the call here.

So happy to be so wrong. This team came to play tonight. Dak balled out- the game of his career. Everything was done well, minus the XPs.

How is Cowboyville feeling about Brett Maher?

I think he might have the yips. Next week will be interesting.

SF played Sat....DAL Monday night.....not sure a team getting that much of an advantage is the post season is very cool....I get one day, two days a little much.....Monday night games on this weekend probably not the best idea.....great for fans to watch, but two extra days is quite a bit...

Keys to beating SF:

On defense:
Load the box
Limit outside Zone runs
Tackle tackle tackle. Reduce YAC.
Make Purdy throw downfield

On offense:
Continue same split of carries with Pollard/Zeke.
Limit pre snap and holding calls
Take multiple deep shots off play action
Attack the intermediate to deep zones with TEs on seem routes.
No picks

Special Teams
Gotta make your kick's
No turnovers

I’m quietly optimistic about this one. Everyone pumping the SF tires, but we can play big boy football too.

Should be a great game.

It’s not complicated. If Dak outplays Purdy Dallas wins

Game day baby!

I’m thrilled that our Boys are still playing football. I don’t expect a win today but they are definitely in with a chance!

One thing that stuck out to me last week was really poor tackling. If they try to tackle like that against McCaffery , Deebo and Aiyuk they will get hammered.

And I say this every week, but can we PLEASE THROW THE BALL TO POLLARD IN SPACE?!?!

And do we even have a RB screen pass in the playbook smh?

I’m still containing my excitement and expecting the worst. Not gonna jinx it.

I’m most concerned with our secondary. Signing dudes of their couch to play CB is scary.

I think an early lead and getting this game close in the 4th - will be key. We get down 10-11 points, I don’t think we recover.

My biggest fear is not being able to stop outside zone runs.

Last other best guess - look for a trick ST play to get us a bonus possession.

And travel to both games. With an overall better record.
SF has a better record then Dallas...

Another year, another bad Dak pick or two. Don't know how you trot Dak out for anything else but another uninspiring season and an early playoff exit.

When you think back on Dak's career. What's the highlight game? The best moment?

I can't think of any point where Dak truly rose to the moment.

He's a nice guy, was a nice ok-ish QB at state, and a nice ok-ish QB in the NFL but is just not a long term answer. Your realistic out with Dak is prior to 2024 making next year a wasted year. Like every year.

When we look back? He’s not even halfway through. Lol.

With your talent on D and Purdy on the other side this was an easy call. Dak sucked, y’all lost.

He’s a good player. Has had flashes of excellence. He’s a good guy.

The reality is he has been consistently overrated. He’s not elite. He’s Danny White or Tony Romo- could players that won their fair share of starts but just could never get over the hump.

He has no signature moment- perhaps last weeks win over a bad Tampa team. He’s 29 and physically not what he was. He’s not good enough as a pocket passer to excel with limited mobility.

I’m glad he got paid- but I do not want Dallas to resign him. The body of work is clear- this is about as far as this team can go with him. They have a really good defense and good surrounding cast.

At least they won a playoff game this year. They are a good team but not great.

You’re the worst. Zero class. Way to talk smack after the game.

Doubt it, his injuries are piling up. He gets cut in 2024 signs on with someone like Minnesota does 1-2 years and retires.

Unless you are completely obtuse you can clearly see I made the prediction before the game

Everything this.

The sheer amount of unrestricted free agents is staggering. Paying dak and Zeke will come due this off-season in catastrophic ways. This was the year.

A lot of moments, but not kicking the fg because your kicker is a head case and getting pollard hurt in the ensuing drive was peak cowboys.
