As a Philly fan, it is fun to debate with Cowboy fans whose team is better. This being 2020, the debate has flipped. Which team is worse? On the Eagles side, you have Carson Wentz, who can't hit the broad side of a barn; Doug Pederson, who insists on continuing to throw the ball with a decimated offensive line and a beleaguered starting QB, and who continues to try to play Alshon Jeffrey and Jason Peters when younger, better players are available; and injuries to most of the starting positions on offense, other than Center and QB. On the Dallas side, you have the injury to Dak Prescott, the fumbling issues of Ezekial Elliot, the many injuries on the offensive line, and a run defense that is the worst in the league and has given up over 200 yards rushing four times. Add in ineffective coaching from Mike McCarthy and Mike Nolan, and the Cowboys are going nowhere fast.

So who is worse this year?

Who will be worse going forward, when age and salary cap issues will affect both teams?

Have at it.

I'd say at this moment, the Eagles are worse. They have slowly devolved into a laughing stock that can't even move the football. Hurts is in this week against a good defense, so we'll see if he can do anything but odds are he's not going to have any better chance than Carson except maybe being able to scramble. Then going forward they have the added fun of having a QB controversy with an expensive veteran and an unproven 2nd year player, Probably a new coach and most likely the same GM that has been making most of the mistakes due to poor drafting.

Dallas at least looks like they can move the ball on offense (even though defense is a siv). And they'll get Dak back next year which could be good or bad drama wise. Should be a fun game week 16.

I'll extend it to that whole putrid division. Not just bad teams, but extremely unlikable ones.
Idk, the Giants team is rounding into a tough nosed bunch. I can see them finishing maybe at 8-8 now where even a week ago that seemed like an impossibility. If I had to bet money, I'd say the Giants finish 7-9 which is at least below average and not horrific for a division winner.

Looked to me like the Cowboys... uh, defense?.. is in self preservation mode. Unintentionally tanking rest of way. Could regroup in 2021 with new DC and return of Dak.

Eagles seem to be financially ****ed with a franchise QB riding the pine with the *YIPS*... 2020 is bad, but 2021 will be worse.

You've convinced me Philly might be worse going forward. At least Dallas can mentally "flush" 2020, reset and proceed with Dak and other injured pieces presumably slotting back into their places. Not saying that will transpire but mentally that's the road they can see ahead. For Philly, 2020 is not just a bad dream they can wake up from.

This year I think of Dallas as worse because they should be better despite the injuries. With Dalton and the offensive talent they still have, they should be doing more on offense than they are.

This

Philly sucks worser

That's the thing imo. As much as we dislike the "what if" discussions, had Dak stayed healthy they'd be running away with the division imo. I guess you could say the same about the giants with Barkley and now jones 🤷🏾‍♂️

I don't know about running away with it.  Before losing Dak, they were a fluky onside kick away from starting 0-4.

Right, they were bad BEFORE losing Dak. However, Dak himself was not playing bad - so in 2021+, at least they have a QB that isn't bottom 5. At least for the next 2 years (21/22), the Eagles will almost undoubtedly be worse. Going to be at least 2023 before they can right the ship. Cowboys have a much easier path to relevance.

:cring:

I will never understand Phillys obsession with the Dallas Cowboys.
Obsession....no.

Comparing two rivals who have both messed the bed this season.......Ding, ding, ding, ding.

I would have made the same post if Pittsburgh and Baltimore or Green Bay and Chicago had equally horrific seasons.

I will never understand some Cowboys fan's obsession with saying Philly fans are Obsessed with the Cowboys.

Running away might be a stretch but they'd have at least 2-3 more wins.

Their 3 losses were to probable playoff teams with a combined 25-11 record. 1 score away in two of those games. Those are still losses of course, but at least those were quality teams. (Of course their wins were too close too)

Running away with it was a stretch, but I'm fairly certain they'd have a few more wins. Their defense has been bad, their o line subpar. I don't see them as a legit contender for the SB any time soon, but they should be quite a bit better than Philly.

Dak >> Wentz

Until Wentz pulls his head out, and unless Hurts shows me some strong performances down the stretch, the Eagles are worse and in worse shape for 2021. They can fix the OL. Wentz has to show he's fixable, because even if Hurts is good, they still have a boat anchor of a contract with Wentz which will hurt their ability to do other things with that $.

QB > no QB

It's a QB driven league.

Also, looking at this year and 2021, both teams suffered heaps of injuries.

Assuming both teams get healthy for next year, Dallas still has a much better OL, and IMO a slightly better defense.

Voted Dallas for both.

In 2021 and beyond, it is a simple question of leadership. Jerry Jones, from a football lens, is horrific in every way. In turn, he hires bad coaches. Organizations with poor leadership are doomed to failure. Dallas is this.
