LOL! What was also funny was that Salisbury had to bring in another situation (T. Brady & M. Vick) to try and get his point across. I also thought when Dan lost control, he seemed to go at Irvin, but said nothing of the sort to Salisbury.Irvin telling Salisbury that he had no idea about what it means to be on a winning team was classic too. Irvin definitely got the better of Salisbury in the pre-Leinart/Young argument. Salisbury says, "You may be a HOF player and I'm not...but I'm a HOF broadcaster and you're not." Irvin counters with, "Oh really? I just signed a new contract with ESPN. Want to compare?" Salisbury got owned. Fun to listen to.
Salisbury is a USC grad and has always been a USC homer. I am sure his NFL-Mock draft had the first 8 picks being USC players until the ESPN editing team got a hold of it.Only caught the tail end I thought it was great buy I thought it was
Irving- Leinart
Salisbury- Young
Sean should've gone to the crack pipe after that blow from Irvin.Salisbury says, "You may be a HOF player and I'm not...but I'm a HOF broadcaster and you're not." Irvin counters with, "Oh really? I just signed a new contract with ESPN. Want to compare?" Salisbury got owned. Fun to listen to.
I can't stand Irving. Of course thats the way he's gonna stand. Have you ever once seen him stand up for a white player over a black one? Never. He is probably the most racist commentator in the NFL. And on a different note, what does Irving know about being a QB. Salisbury knows much more about what it takes to be a QB in the NFL than some cocky WR.BTW - In the arguement...
Salisbury = Leinart
Irvin = Young
Wasnt it Irvin that said last year that the Eagles would be undefeated with Brett Favre at QB as opposed to 4-4 with Donovan McNabb. I know he was just trying to stir up trouble but last time I checked Favre was white and McNabb was black.I can't stand Irving. Of course thats the way he's gonna stand. You mean Chris Everett?I have to weigh in on this one......one has to think that HOF (to-be) players like Irving look down on former players like Salisbury. However, Irvin is garbage as an NFL analyst. I totally agree with the previous post..Irvin yells louder and takes the gangbanger approach to debating an issue. Salisbury should have used the crackpipe comment. Irvin takes the same approach with Steve Young on Countdown....except Young maintains his class.
Bottom line, this kind of stuff keeps us entertained. My favorite is still Jim Everrit dumping the table on Jim Rome. Classic. Anyone have that clip?
And Sean "Mr. Clipboard" takes the Jock/Bully role whenever he faces off against John Clayton... good to hear Salsibury get owned.I have to weigh in on this one......one has to think that HOF (to-be) players like Irving look down on former players like Salisbury. Very fine point! Nice to see Salisbury run into somebody who yells a little louder.And Sean "Mr. Clipboard" takes the Jock/Bully role whenever he faces off against John Clayton... good to hear Salsibury get owned.I have to weigh in on this one......one has to think that HOF (to-be) players like Irving look down on former players like Salisbury. Classic Irvin.LOL @ when Irvin also said like..."don't know you guys know you can't win an arguement with me. With all my experience in court that is one thing I know how to do, is win an arguement."
Does Salisbury really think this?Salisbury says, "You may be a HOF player and I'm not...but I'm a HOF broadcaster and you're not."
Which QB was Aikman more like - Leinart or Young?Irvin telling Salisbury that he had no idea about what it means to be on a winning team was classic too. Ditka's comment last fall of, "Louder does not make it right, Michael," is still my favorite.In typical Irvin fashion the solution to the argument is to always yell louder.
I think they are both tools.
This is the only correct answer.I think they are both tools.
I loved that too. But you guys are right, they are both idiots.Ditka's comment last fall of, "Louder does not make it right, Michael," is still my favorite.In typical Irvin fashion the solution to the argument is to always yell louder.

Livid I missed it but Irvin sounds like he OWNED Salisbury (not that is any great achievement).Irvin telling Salisbury that he had no idea about what it means to be on a winning team was classic too. Irvin definitely got the better of Salisbury in the pre-Leinart/Young argument. Salisbury says, "You may be a HOF player and I'm not...but I'm a HOF broadcaster and you're not." How many black commentators have you stood up for?I can't stand Irving. Of course thats the way he's gonna stand. Have you ever once seen him stand up for a white player over a black one? Never. Hopefully only on days he forgets to take his medication.Does Salisbury really think this?Salisbury says, "You may be a HOF player and I'm not...but I'm a HOF broadcaster and you're not."
Sadly yeah he does...before it went to his head I actually liked him on ESPN...he would be surprised if he went back and listened to himself from when he 1st started out to now..i hate the thing they do with him and clayton...sean sounds like an idiot and clayton looks like a talking bobble headDoes Salisbury really think this?Salisbury says, "You may be a HOF player and I'm not...but I'm a HOF broadcaster and you're not."
+1I think they are both tools.
I agree. He really is quick with the comebacks. If he was a little more articulate and a little less overbearing in the arguments...he would be outstanding. We have to remember that this is very, very early in his television career. Give him 4 years in front of the camera and he could be awesome. Of course, he could become worse if he doesn't listen to constructive criticism and suggestions for improvement too.Irvin is very very witty. Props.
He may be awesome. But he'll never be Salisbury awesome. I mean Salisbury is a self proclaimed HOF...I agree. He really is quick with the comebacks. That is such an awesome clip.YesBottom line, this kind of stuff keeps us entertained. My favorite is still Jim Everett dumping the table on Jim Rome. Classic. Anyone have that clip?
I love tennis-playing radio midgets telling NFL QB's that they're not tough. Credibility just drips off of that.That is such an awesome clip.YesBottom line, this kind of stuff keeps us entertained. My favorite is still Jim Everett dumping the table on Jim Rome. Classic. Anyone have that clip?
I'll give this to Rome, he had the balls to say it even if that means he got dumped on his head. The last couple of lines were comedy gold."I bet you don't call me Chris again"I love tennis-playing radio midgets telling NFL QB's that they're not tough. Me too -Dr.Laura>RomeI'll give this to Rome
I would never have guessed thatBTW - In the arguement...
Salisbury = Leinart
Irvin = Young
Give him nothing...you don't think he thought for a minute that let me get sucker punched and my ratings will go through the roof? The way Rome stood up and just allowed him to come at him, he took one for the team...errr...himself. No balls in that!I'll give this to Rome, he had the balls to say it even if that means he got dumped on his head.
