DeAngelo Williams dealing with foot injury Sun Oct 24, 06:13 PM

Carolina Panthers head coach John Fox said RB DeAngelo Williams (foot) is dealing with a foot injury, but team officials do not believe it is serious, reports Steve Reed, of CarolinaGrowl.com.

Does it really matter if he plays or not?
It might next Sunday. The Rams aren't stout against the run. Blount ran all over them yesterday. He could have topped 120 yards rushing but had two long runs called back. Combine that with the fact the Rams have gotten ultra-conservative the last two games and it's unlikely in my opinion they will build a big lead so I think the game will be close. If it's close, that means there's a good chance the Panthers run the ball 25-30 times. Whether they do anything is the question but on paper this is a nice matchup for the Carolina running game.

If you haven't paid attention, Matt Moore was very effective in week 7 and the offensive finally got rolling. Things are pointing up for the entire Panthers offense as they got their first win.

Was hoping it was broken. At least then, maybe Stewart would have some value. I was stoked to get these two for only a 2nd and 6th... turned out to be the two worst picks of my entire draft.

Just shows you another horrible season ending coaching decision from Fox. Had he left the veteran Moore in the Panthers would be in contention in the South. The offense has weapons and the defense is really good, the offense just needed a few weeks to get the rhythm down.

I think I got Stewart in the 8th in a 10 teamer. I thought he would be good but he is terrible this year - hopefully they sit DeAngelo for a week.

Here's hoping your entire fantasy football team gets injured somehow. I never respect anyone for hoping injuries on professional atheletes.

It must be hard not to respect yourself then after wishing injury on his entire team. :goodposting:

 I was going to point out the almost unbelievable contradiction in that sentence, but decided against it.

Carolina Panthers RB DeAngelo Williams (foot) left Week 7 late in the fourth quarter with a foot injury; however, the injury is not believed to be serious, according to a team official, reports Steve Reed, of the Gaston Gazette.

Our view: Good news for the Panthers here. They finally got their first win of the season on Sunday, and would like to build on that momentum as the season goes forward.

He's fine

INJURY UPDATE: Williams left the game late in the fourth quarter with a foot injury, but it’s not believed to be serious according to a team official.
Whew, glad you said he's fine, now I don't have to worry. :headbang: Lets just wait to hear a real update then just some guy wearing a Panthers jacket giving his thoughts to a reporter.

DLo is made of glass and an ankle is in no way a brush under the rug injury, if he is out a few weeks at all. he will become cuttable in redraft.

Dwill has a foot sprain and is considered day to day

Day to day doesn't sound good. How often are day to day players active on game day? If he doesn't practice on Thursday or Friday, then I think Stewart is a good play.
It's a hell of a lot better than being ruled out for Week 8.I could really use this. I won't ask for someone to be hurt, but if DeAngelo Williams is going to miss 1 game this year, it would be outstanding if this was that week. I could really use a reason to start Jon Stewart with half my team on bye.

Long runs get called back in 90% of all games..thats what happens when you hold. Happens every week and the same could be said for pretty much any RB.

And I was half right. The game was close and both RBs got plenty of carries as a result. I believed the matchups strongly favored volume for Williams and particularly for Stewart this week and that proved to be correct. The fact they both stunk up the joint (Stewart especially) doesn't mean the matchup didn't favor the opportunity. It means they failed to cash in. That's happened a lot this season, more than I can recall in a long times. Matchups seem to be completely meaningless this season. I'm not sure what else explains Ryan Fitzpatrick looking Drew Brees on the road and Brees looking like Ryan Fitzpatrick at home.

Any new insight into DeAngelo Williams? Any reports out of Carolina on his injury?

And with the schedule the Panthers have going forward and the offense seemingly finding some semblance of a rhythm against a stiff 49ers Defense, is there reason for optimism here?

He still sux as a fantasy RB this year.

Truth. I usually mentally substitute "questionable" when I hear "day to day." "Day to day" always seems to be code for "we won't know until he practices on it." It seems like we get a lot more "day to day" on Monday and Tuesday than we do on Thursday or Friday. He might wind up being one of those guys we don't know about until he tries to warm up on it Sunday morning, or he may go limited on Wed/Thurs and full on Friday.
