Daniel Thomas (1 Viewer)

Don't mess with Texas
For those that saw the game. How did he look? The numbers appear that he had a great showing, what did you see?

funny how before the season this thread would have gotten tons of responses and info. I did not see the game so would like to know what people saw also.

From stats looked like he came in early and got the majority of the reps from the get-go.

Guess Bush's feature role lasted all of one game.

The performances we've seen in these first two weeks are practically enough to make it clear that pre-season games are indeed pointless. Cam Newton and Daniel Thomas could end up winning fantasy championships for owners, yet they looked unworthy of a roster spot in 14 team leagues during the preseason.

After watching the replays myself, it's quite clear that Miami has found their between-the-tackles runner, and his name isn't Reggie Bush. Finally, Bush can return to the role he's comfortable in.

Watched every play. He looked great. Very decisive with good burst - 2 things he showed none of in the preseason. He did have a very costly fumble at the end of a nice run in the 3rd quarter when the Fins were driving down by 6 and carrying all of the momentum. Very unfortunate that his great performance was marred by such a costly play, but overall there is reason for optimism for fantasy owners.

Thanks for the remarks and it's good to see someone from Fort Worth on here. I wouldn't say the pre-season is pointless, there's no question that it's not a TOTALLY determining factor as to how the season will be played out but your point is well taken. The thing with Thomas was coming from his own coaching staff during camp and that's what worried most people going into the draft. Not his pre-season performance or lack thereof so it seems that maybe he just needed a little more time to get adjusted to the speed of the NFL or learn the playbook.

:goodposting: Thanks

the game thread also had some good details of his game, everything was positive in there, except for the fumble
Thanks, I worked all day yesterday, I didn't get to see the game are chime in on the thread. I figured more would post here instead of filtering through a game thread on one player, he could have his own.

also, in dynasty leagues,

thomas was prep/JUCO QB, and only played RB for two seasons...

so he could have upside...

he doesn't have electric quicks or long speed, but very good feet and shiftiness for a big man...

may never get a 60+ yard run, but looks like he could have a lot of 10-20+ yarders...

he is obviously a good athlete, and that extends to ball skills, so he has the ability to boost his totals in the passing game...

He should be their GL back going forward for sure, but yesterday the kicker was the only GL player of note...and he failed.

To be fair, I think the fumble was more about a defender happening to get a great hit on the ball as opposed to Thomas having done something wrong in terms of ball security.
