Dante Rosario (1 Viewer)

I see he and Jeff King have been splitting time this pre-season. Rosario just came off a good pre-season game. Was a rookie last year had 6-108-2 last year all towards the end of the year I believe. Not sure Carolina has ever really used their TE's much either.

Scouted him a lot for a web site and mag.He actually was a fullback/hybrid for the Ducks.Had a slow forty time and was more overweight than any other tight end prospect at the combine.
He has a great center of gravity, is very balanced and typically will get yardage after contact.
That is from my archives for Pro Draft Guide when he was a prospect. All in all, I don't see much for him with the Panthers since they usually fail to fully integrate their tight ends into the passing attack, although Jeff King showed glimpses of potential last year.King is still the guy though in my book.

I was at the game last night and Rosario looks great. King was whistled for a false start and came out of the game after that. I noticed Rosario often last night and he made two very nice grabs including the 22 yd TD at the end of the first half.

Not sure where you got your information, but he does not look slow or overweight... the guy is very athletic and has terrific hands, IMO I think he will see some nice touches as the leading TE for the Panthers this season. King is not bad, but my money is on Rosario to have a pretty good impact on the Panthers. When your OC is a former OL... I believe the Panthers will utilize the TE much more often than in the past. Keep your eye on Rosario and if he has a few good games in September be ready to bounce on him if you need help at TE.

He weighed in at Indianapolis for the combine at 283 lbs. That is very hefty especially when he sized up alongside the other TEs in attendence. No one said he was slow. He had a slow forty time. So did Anquan Boldin. The OP wanted to know about him so he was given the information.

His combine wasn't nearly as bad as you made it out to be. He weighed in at 244. (Jeff King is the same height as was heavier) Only one TE (Greg Olsen) had a 40 time more then .05 of a second faster than him. Only one TE had a higher vertical leap. No TE had a better 3 cone drill.HE had more catches for more yards than King over the last three weeks of the season. He is a real threat to King.

Combine stats don't matter to me. I can tell you know, he was is listed at 250 lbs on the Panthers web site and based on how he looks on the field, I would say that is about right. The guy has skills and I watch every Panther game as I have season tickets and watch all the away games on TV. My feeling is that Rosario will overtake Jeff King and soon. You can certainly have your opinion and I won't tell you that King may have more value from a FF perspective as he is a pretty good player, but Rosario started coming on towards the end of last year and seems to be doing pretty well now and Jake is looking his way in the two games I have seen at home.Panthers highlight vs. the Redskins :coffee:

In the middle of the video highlights check out the great catch my Rosario right after the JStew and DW TD runs and tell me if you don't think the guy doesn't have the ability to be a good TE. BTW, hardly saw King getting any targets on Saturday and was pulled after he caused a false start. He came back in, but didn't get a catch all night, while Rosario was targeted several times including a nice 20 yd catch in the first quarter and the nice TD grab shown in the highlights. Dante is DEFINITELY someone to keep your eye on and look at his stats in September to see if he is worth a FA pickup.

Thanks Dave. Great info. I too was at the game and he did look awfully good.

New article on Dante. He is striving to be great and looks like he will see plenty of action this season.

Rosario article

It mentions several things that I did in my earlier post, including his 40 time, but looking good on the field with his routes and ability to make plays. Several of the other posters in the article also like him including one guy that equates him to a Fantasy Sleeper.

Keep your eyes out for Rosario and if he has a few good games in the beginning of the season grab him before someone else does. :lmao:

I wouldn't be surprised if I was the only person on this board to start him today. Looks like his stock will rise dramatically.

I didn't start him but he is on my roster. I kept him over a couple WR prospects. After watching a few preseason Panther games it was obvious they liked him. He will be the #1 TE in Carolina and I would not be surprised if he's a top 10 TE at the end of the season.edited because I've had a few.

Im so mad. I dropped Watson for Utecht but was debating Rosario or Fasano. Now Ill never get him. He looks like Gates out there

Hope you guys were able to grab him late or as a FA before the season started, as he will be hitting the WW and will get scooped up for sure this week! What a sweet catch to win the game today!!! Awesome, just awesome! :lmao: :lmao:

If Rosario can perform at this level CAR is going to be tough when Smitty returns. Two productive RBs to boot.

Fox Sports doesn't know much about him either. They listed him as "Rosario Dawson" in the Air and Ground stats thing at the end of the game. :lmao:

He looked really good. A few things to consider though - the Panthers are going to be a run-first team, and Steve Smith returns in 1 game. Delhomme LOVES Steve Smith.

Rosario came to Oregon as a RB/LB prospect, but switched positions to H-Back and Fullback before hanging in as a TE.

Set an Oregon record for TE with 42 receptions for 426 yards in 2006.

Known in college as a big work ethic guy. His role is only just beginning with the Panthers. This game was no fluke, Dante is another weapon for Jake Delhomme - and could be the #2 target behind Steve Smith.

I watched the Carolina game and was very impressed by what I saw from Rosario. He was all over the field and getting a ton of looks from Delhomme. I thought he was a WR replacement for Steve Smith and didn't even realize he was a TE. I think I'll be picking him up on waivers to back up Owen Daniels.

Where was he lining up? How will Steve Smith's return impact him?
He was going to be a weapon anyway, even had Smit played. Fox said this yesterday:On if there were more opportunities for Rosario because Smith did not play: Dante's a guy that developed late last year. Unfortunately, he missed some time in the preseason, so we didn't see as much of him. He's a guy we had high regard for last year and coming into this year. Whether Steve's there or not, the defense can dictate a lot of what happens with the ball. So the more weapons you have the better it is. We were probably counting on Dante Rosario a little bit anyway. He was going to be a factor no matter what.

FYI - Fosario has a sprained foot, and is day-to-day. He sprained it during the game and played on it, so it might not be too bad.

Worth a flier if you can find a bench spot. My first thought was of some unheralded WR/TE combo guy in NO a couple of years back.
