David Boston (1 Viewer)

I can see the Bengals as a good destination for him, especially if CJ does force the organization's hand..

Playing with Palmer I predict 80/1000/6

he is only 29 and only a couple of years removed from an 880 yard season, if he can get his head on straight he might be a nice pickup in a deep league.

he is only XX and only a X years removed from an XXX-XXXX yard season, if he can get his head on straight he might be a nice pickup in a deep league.Copy, paste, print for past and future use by FBG and anyone else who likes wasting late-round picks.

I love when Righetti post; his avatar is hot! :lmao:

Oh yeah, Boston is barely worth a late round flyer. Someone calls him a sleeper EVERY year!

This same thing happened last year.

I quickly dug up some old "Bostons is a sleeper" threads.

And they got LOCKED. So I might keep bumping this thread or digging deeeeper.

What a waste of talent ! Took a ton of HGH and got really ripped up and couldn't stop and his body couldn't take it and broke down. Then he wised up and toned down a little and started taking GHB to help him sleep and recoup durign training camp. Thing is the guy has alot of talent its just his head is on too loose.

He should go down in history as one of the top 10 wastes of talent. Total idiot. Amazingly he comes from a smart family(sister is a lawyer, dad NFL ref, mom University teacher) yet he was the one true idiot. Flashed his talent years back, only to throw it away by thinking he was the ####. Well he was partially right as he is now just a turd.

Why didn't this thread die yesterday? Should we start talking about taking a flier on Barry Sanders? How about Ricky Waters? Those guys could still perform....

in the right situation there are a number of situations who could use another receiver with recent defections or potential defections from their receiving corps.

Cincinatti

Seahawks

off the top of my head

he could still produce.. There are other situation without a true WR1 like the Eagles who could take a chance to BBD

I heard Watters had a tryout with the Lions yesterday. They were going to sign him, but a physical revealed severe ball cancer. Now the team is bringing in Jamal Anderson and Terrell Davis for a look. Eddie George has also been contacted.

It's about that time of the year when we start hearing some good news about D.Boston
Yes. I also have high hopes for Ron Dayne as well.Getting these two guys late and taking Barry Sanders and Ricky Williams on the turn in the last two rounds of my draft this year will sure to bring me a fantasy championship.

 I've always thought he was one of the biggest overachievers around. He made millions off of one year of juicing/performance. He was never THAT talented.

the news:

David Boston, who was arrested in August on a drunken driving charge, pleaded no contest this morning to a lesser charge of reckless driving, according to the Tampa Tribune. County Judge William Overton sentenced him to six months' probation and ordered him to attend DUI school. Boston also was ordered to serve 50 hours of community service and pay $615 in investigative costs and a $500 fine. Once Boston fulfills his financial obligations and attends DUI school, he will have the right to buy out of his 50 hours of community service. He also will have the right to ask for early termination of his probation. He did not comment.
the Righetti take:This is the time for an NFL team like the Bengals or the Seahawks to buy low on Boston. As a few people have mentioned already Big Dave Boston is only a few short years removed from a productive season on the Chargers and in the right situation he can surprise again..can you imagine jerry jones taking a chance on this former super stud?

This is the type of thread I pop in and say "Boston? No thanks I have that roster spot earmarked for Ben Gay", and leave.

There has been a sighting...........

David Boston-WR-Buccaneers Apr. 21 - 2:01 pm et

David Boston has signed with the CFL's Toronto Argonauts.

Boston, 29, pleaded no contest last week to a charge of reckless driving. He made the Buccaneers out of training camp in 2007 before his arrest.

Just what is an Argonaut anyway? Is there a planet Argo they fly to or something? CFL fans, display your knowledge here please.

sounds like he'll have a chance to show his merits in the CFL, I believe their season starts earlier and he should be in great playing shape by the time the season rolls around. If he plays a full season you can expect 40/650/4 with an upside of 80/1200/8

I'm guessing it's the "Jason and the Argonauts" type of Argonaut. That would make it an appropriate signing since they searched for the Golden Fleece and Boston likely just fleeced them for a chunk of gold.

I think Boston will be a more than serviceable #2 or 3 this year. He's got all the tools.

Look to pick him up in the later rounds

:lmao: although I think his yardage ceiling will be closer to 1000 with 10+ TDs very possibly...in the right offensive scheme.

rumor has it he is in the best shape of his life and sees this CFL move as the quickest and easiest way to make it back to the NFL..

In the meantime, its only a matter of time when we'll see rumors of the Seahawks, Jets, Bengals or dare-I-say DALLAS comes looking for a big, fast receiver with this type of talent

My buddy's sister is married to a guy who has a cousin that used to be roommates with the equipment manager for the Hamilton Tiger-Cats. They apparently had a scrimmage with the Argonauts, and Boston jumped thirty feet in the air to catch an overthrown ball. On his way down, he grabbed the crossbar of the field goal post, did an inverted pike triple back-flip, landed on one hand and somersaulted through the middle of the end zone for a touchdown. I guess it was no good, though. Canadian rules say no triple back-flips unless the defense makes first contact. No question that all the NFL scouts were there to see it, though. I bet he'll be starting for the Dolphins by the end of the summer...Parcells loves *** plays.
