***David Wilson Bandwagon*** (3 Viewers)

So the Giants waived Darrell Scott. It's your show, Wilson.
is that true?
100% Giants waived RB Da'Rel Scott.

It's a surprising move, and a vote of confidence in shaky starter David Wilson. It's a sign the Giants are ready to start using Wilson in more passing situations. It leaves the G-Men with just used-up veteran Brandon Jacobs and practice-squad type Michael Cox behind Wilson. Scott rushed five times for 26 yards against the Chiefs on Sunday, but was averaging only 3.5 yards per carry. That number slumps to 3.0 for his career.

Honestly... this is kind of blowing my mind. Even though I've been fighting the point that Wilson's been proficient in pass protection I NEVER saw this one coming. I'm interested in hearing more on this from the coaching staff on the reasoning. Even if they decided to put Wilson in an every down role... why not keep Scott on as a 'just incase' type of play?

The scott news is pretty big

would everyone agree now that if he has a bad week this week it is a bad sign for him?

He should get as many looks as he will get, against as bad of defense as he will see (perhaps other than the redskins)

if he has a crappy week this week can we agree he's in trouble?
certainly one of the better matchups on the schedule.

they have Cox who I don't know if he's had a carry, Jacobs and Wilson. If he doesn't get the work this weekend he'll never get it.
My money is on Jacobs.

I could be wrong; as I said, we haven't learned anything about his protection the last few weeks. But he could have shown them enough in practice.

This thread will hit 100 pages by end of the game on Sunday. Whether he plays good or bad

Just a thought. There were rumors last week of Nicks being traded to Detroit for LeShoure and a 2nd round pick (I think 2nd). And they were debunked. Maybe they were in talks and now that they are 0-4 and unlikely to resign Nicks they are trading him. And they are releasing Scott to make room for some part of a trade? No proof obviously, but nothing about this release makes sense to me. And a release to make trade room makes more sense.

You know better than this. Wilson could be sitting on 500 YFS and 2 TDs in week 12 and these guys will still be calling him the lock of the week.

I'd put money on Wilson. Jacobs is horrible.
We're only talking about pass protection here, right?
Jacobs to my knowledge wasn't getting 3rd down work, it was Scott so I'd expect that work to go to Wilson. I have no knowledge on the situation but just think that this is a sign that they are ready to sink or swim with Wilson. They are 0-4 and are near the point where they have nothing else to lose. If they somehow play Jacobs as the 3rd down back, you can stick a fork in Wilson for 2013.

We can hope. That would be a nice deal for both teams. Too good to be true.

Something like that makes sense, horrible move for Detroit if it happens, great move by the Giants. I guess that is why the Giants have won super bowls and the Lions have never even been to one.

That would be a nice deal for fantasy owners, that move sucks for Detroit

that would be a coup for Detroit...Leshoure stinks.

because of a trade in your imagination?

Can we be honest here, even if they give him all the carries and work this week and he goes off. It is the Eagles for crying out loud. For the record I love Wilson

Hit the shark pool kinda late, nine-thirty on a Tuesday night,
just to make a late-night Wilson stop.
Call it impulsive, call it compulsive, call it insane;
but when it D Wilson I just can't stop.

It's a matter of instinct, it's a matter of conditioning,
It's a matter of fact.
You can call me Pavlov's dog
Ring a bell and I'll salivate- how'd you like that?
Mr Coughlin tell me you'll give wilson a shot,
cause right now I'm

Checking the stats to see what David Wilson did
Well I'm Checking the stats to see what David Wilson did.

Lol, one guy says it would be a coupe for Det. The other says it would suck for Det.

This is why I love the SP.

that does make some sense

I don't follow you? I said it would be a bad move for Detroit. Paying a second rounder for a guy that can't stay healthy, which sounds like the rest of their receivers and they have very little chance of resigning him because of the cap problems they already have.

That would actually be a HUGE steal for the Lions assuming they would be able to extend Nicks. LeShoure is garbage.

Haha, again I'm just spit balling and have no real basis for it other than it makes more sense than the random release of Scott.

Itd be a good deal for both teams. The Giants can use the pick to start rebuilding this line next season. And the Lions can use Nicks to make that offense close to Denver levels.

They can't

I guess we'll see if they are right....good for Wilson owners.
I really don't think this means Wilson is the 3rd down back. I'm expecting someone else in that role. I hope I'm wrong, as a new Wilson owner.
QUICK JUMP ON THE BANDWAGON!!!!!!!!!!
I'm not on the bandwagon. I've been clear and consistent about my thoughts on Wilson as a player. I don't expect to see Wilson on many passing situations. I just don't see them not using him there at all, to using him there exclusively.

He's always been a talent and I've only not "been on the bandwagon" since his market value shot up and I didn't feel it was justified. I likee him more than Doug Martin as prospects, for example (a swing and a miss).

The signed a linemen from the practice squad. It looks like that have the roster spot filled.

They can and will if they want too. Everyone says this and yet teams always find a way to get things done.

pull back on the reins a bit there

Not sure why anyone thinks that Scott's release was to make room for a trade. He was released to make room for a player, but not from a trade. They signed a new Center

The Lions already have 134 million tied up in next years salaries, the cap this year is 121, how much will it go up and they have to renew Suh, Fairley, and Stafford in the next 3 years

This train is reboarding now people... for all those that jumped off after a rough start this season, your last chance to get back on is now. This is a high speed train and it;s on a high speed rail. Once it leaves the station this time, there's no looking back.

CHOO CHOO. MOTHER####ERS.

The Newark Star-Ledger reports Giants RG Chris Snee (hip) could require season-ending surgery.
Sounds to me like he's likely started his last game if this is the case. He's older, I believe is off contract next season and I expect them to want to move on and rebuild this o line after this year. Could see them draft a tackle in the first next year and slide Pugh to RG which is a more natural position for him.

NYG has to have another backup in mind. They can't go to war with just Wilson and Jacobs.
I mean... They can... The plan was to go to war with Wilson to start the season. They're probably going to take Wilson off KR duties and active Cox.
