if someone says Da'Rel Scott is fast, like CJ2k....you'd be ok with that?
or said
XXX is not a speed back, Da Rell Scott and CJ2k, THOSE are speed backs!
Sure... to that extent of your wording? You are saying Da'Rel Scott is fast like CJ2K. CJ2K and him both ran extremely fast 40 times at the combine. I see no issue with it what so ever. Now... if you said "I see Da'rel Scott as a similar back to CJ2K" I'd tell you that's insane. CJ is 5'11 200 lbs, Scott is 5'11 210lbs. Johnson has good vision and is quick on top of being fast. Scott doesn't and isn't. There's a vast difference in comparing a certain aspect of someone's game to someone else and comparing them player by player.
David Wilson is not Jamaal Charles... saying that would be ridiculous. I said Charles and Wilson both are quick, that's not false. If I wanted to compare Wilson more closely to an actual player, I might say "Wilson's a lot like Tiki Barber". But you guys would still jump down my throat for that, even though they share very similar running styles and are the exact same size.
Serious? CJ has the fastest 40 time since digital clocking, da'Rel scott is a full .1 slower. Same is the case when you compared Wilson to Charles.......Wilson's 40 time is .13 slower than charles.
I thought I posted this in this thread but it may have been another thread. While Wilson's "official" 40 time is 4.49 at the NFL combine. He had an undisclosed injury from several reports that he had made scouts aware of prior to the combine. Then he ran a 4.37 at the Va Tech Proday also using electronic timing. Regardless, we're arguing wording semantics. If you say:
"Da'rel Scott is just as fast as CJ2K" then you're wrong 100%. If you say "Da'rel Scott is fast, similar to CJ2K" you're not really wrong... 4.34 is still INCREDIBLY fast for a RB. Sure, CJ2K is the fastest player ever clocked. But you're not saying he's as fast you're simply saying Scott's a fast guy with a slight exaggeration. It's like saying... "Man this apple is sweet like candy" well no it's not, but it's pretty sweet.
And as I said, quicks doesn't mean 'speed' quicks is more in regards to a players reactionary agility and acceleration. Charles has more quicks than Wilson which is to be expected as Charles is a significantly smaller back than Wilson. But for his size, Wilson has very good quicks. Comparable to Charles when you take into account their size difference.
