***David Wilson Bandwagon*** (1 Viewer)

Man, I really jumped on this train at the last stop. I thought I was buying low and there was a chance of him becoming relevant if you could afford the time. Is there any hope the Giants run game and Wilson turn it around, or is he looking close to droppable in redraft?

Oh, and being upset about people taking you literally means you're a liar. That's pathetic. Maybe liar is a little harsh. A guy that makes stuff up to make himself look better is a better description I guess, but in the end it's just lying...
You are to Khy what he is to David Wilson. If your command of the of the English language was a bit stronger, I'd think you were the same person.

They'll probably have to start playing the younger guys on the line due to the injuries. As they gain experience, maybe they'll be able to open holes for Wilson.

Other issues with the blocking is they still use Pascoe at FB instead of Conner. Pascoe is terrible at blocking. Conner I guess is still learning the scheme.

Myer is terrible at blocking. Beat writers don't expect the Giants to re-sign him, he's been that bad at blocking and getting open.

I think Wilson might be a good flex for those that make their playoffs but I don't think he's playable the next 5-7 weeks in fantasy. At this rate I think he might end up in the 500 - 700 rushing yard range w/ 5 TDs. A lot depends on how much this neck injury keeps him out.

Rotoworld:

Sources tell the Daily News that David Wilson (neck) won't receive his second opinion until next week.
Wilson is in a holding pattern until he gets further testing. He's just watching practice from the sideline and will not play in Thursday's game against the Bears. There's no word on why he has to wait another week to get another opinion, but it leaves owners with no choice but to just stash the disappointing second-year man on benches. Coach Tom Coughlin is calling Wilson "week to week," suggesting he's very questionable for Week 7.

Trying to figure out if I should take this literally or not.

Second opinions are rarely, if ever, good. It usually means the first opinion is really, really bad. And even if the 2nd opinion is more optimistic than the first, it still means it is really bad...

I can say this with certainty. THIS week is not the week he breaks out.

Do I have a 50/50 shot of figuring it out, or is it more of a 70/30 thing? I mean you've already said we should disregard what you say as not accurate. Some call that lying. You're not one of them, but then again, what would you expect from a liar....

False.

I guess that would made you a liar (and hypocrite). To a simpleton, at least.
 From the guy that says I should have a better grasp on the english language!
I didn't say that, either. I'm spotting a trend.
So am I:

I'm sorry, did I not paraphrase closely enough? Or was I not supposed to take that literally either because again, you are making stuff up?

If it's not safe to say that Richardson is a bust then it's far from okay to say Wilson is a bust.
I don't think anyone is calling Wilson a bust. I am certainly not, and am trying to add him to my dynasty rosters where I can. If Trent's price keeps dropping, I'll be scooping him up too.
Okay, that's fair. Honestly, it becomes hard to see through the lens as to what the 'anti-Wilson' crowd actually thinks of him. And I'm guilty of this as well from the other side of the argument. But we seem to get so heated that we all start spouting off ridiculous nonsense from time to time. From the past several pages of this thread I was convinced that you felt like Wilson was a talentless bust who would likely never amount to anything more than a journeyman backup in his career. Much in the way of what say, Emience has said continually.
The last few pages I have given up on having an actual conversation and was more or less being an #######, fueling the fire.
You forgot, making up stats, using terrible logic, and talking out of your ###. But yeah, we get it...
What stats? I said 50/50 and you guys took it literally. Again, my point was - Jacobs was part of the game plan and came in on the very first 3rd down. We were told that wasn't the case. It was Wilson's turn because Scott was cut - remember? There were 2 third downs before Wilson went down. That would have evened out and Jacobs would have had as many carries and snaps as Scott was getting.

Enjoy David Wilson and Lamar Miller. Let me know how your teams end up.

ETA: You've been all over Khy's junk throughout the entire thread. It's natural to find value in statements that provide you what you want to hear, so I get it. But if you're going to call me out - where were you when Khy made up a combine 40 time?

You were riding the fence early in the thread, then bought into the hype. You were wrong. David Wilson has done nothing and you were certain he would. Now your team(s) is worse because of it. Get that.
Few things...

1. You said 'The snap count was 50/50' and then complain that we took that literal. How exactly are we to take that statement?
Just like you stated that they ran the ball every snap but once with Wilson in the game vs KC. His 50/50 statement is much closer than yours, but nobody calls you on your BS 'facts'.

I read this with a John Madden voice for some reason.

for the season, I'm putting the over/under on wilson's total yards/page at 1
c'mon now... at least 2.2. give it time, this is the week...

that this thread makes it to page 2 of the Pool until next week.

Seriously fellas, enough with the I told you so dooshbaggery. The bandwagon took a wrong turn somewhere, time to stop and ask for directions. From this point forward :point: this is a dynasty discussion. Those of you in redraft, unless you have roster space to hope for something in the weeks Andre Brown will be back, it's time to consider getting off the train. If you have the room to stash, well, who knows.

Good luck.

It is sort of John Madden-esque!

David Wilson may miss rest of Giants seasonBy Paul Schwartz

http://nypost.com/2013/10/09/david-wilson-might-miss-rest-of-giants-season/

The neck injury second-year running back David Wilson suffered on the last play of the first quarter last Sunday against the Eagles is likely going to keep him off the field for several weeks – and perhaps longer.

Wilson has an issue with a disk in his neck. He is undergoing treatment and will seek additional medical advice. He will travel to Los Angeles and will see neck specialist Dr. Robert Watkins on Monday.

Wilson was hurt when defensive end Cedric Thornton dropped Wilson for a 3-yard loss on a play that continued long enough for Wilson to be flung down into the end zone for what could have been ruled a safety but was not.

An NFL source indicated there is great concern that Wilson suffered a significant injury that could end his season and might necessitate surgery.

Two other sources offered conflicting opinions. The first source, very close to the situation, said, “I don’t see that, I’m not hearing that.’’ The other added, “We’re a long way from that. It is premature at this point to make any declarations.’’

Coach Tom Coughlin said Wilson experienced a tingling sensation after the injury, which is why he did not return to the 36-21 loss to the Eagles. Later that night, Wilson tweeted: “I feel good, passed all tests, the doctor just taking extra precautions, be back next week.’’

That is not the case. Wilson has already been ruled out of Thursday night’s game against the Bears in Chicago.

Neck injuries can be quite serious. Peyton Manning needed four surgeries to correct his neck issue. Giants defensive end Mathias Kiwanuka had a bulging and herniated disk in his neck in 2010 and missed the last 13 games of the season. Center David Baas had neck issues two years ago and will miss his third consecutive game after re-injuring his neck in Week 3 against the Panthers.

Wilson did attend Tuesday’s practice, watching from the side, which might be a positive sign, or might mean nothing.

“Got to get it checked out,’’ the first source said, “make sure he’s good.’’

Where's the emoticons for splitting hairs and grasping at straws? That's pathetic....
 You (grillin') fool, you...
Coop -

you are way better than this.

Just cut him for Shane Vereen in my only redraft league. Vereen might actually help me in the playoffs (5-0 despite Wilson's suckage).

Rotoworld:

Citing an NFL source, the NY Daily News reports David Wilson has a disc-related neck injury and "will likely be out several weeks."
Or at least that's the Giants' current understanding, pending the results of Wilson's Monday trip to neck specialist Dr. Robert Watkins. Said one source, "With treatment, this thing could settle down within a couple of weeks." The Giants have a Week 9 bye, so they only play three games over the next 30 days. The team's goal is to try to get the tingling and nerve reaction in Wilson's neck to "settle down." Brandon Jacobs and Da'Rel Scott will share the backfield in the meantime. Andre Brown is eligible to resume playing in football games in Week 10. It's shaping up as a star-crossed, lost season for Wilson and the G-Men.

Time to grab brown?
Yep ,,, I really meed 2 injured RBs on the worst running team in the NFL.

That is the key to winning it all!!!!!!
You could do a lot worse than picking up a player who has a good shot of becoming a starter this far into the season, regardless of their running offense's rank. Especially considering many leagues allow an IR spot for you to stash Brown in. The Giants typically have a good run game and have had a lot of success in recent years. There is a basis for some optimism as far as them getting out of this rut.

Grabbed Brown in my only non-IR league(owned in all others with IR), going to be tough to hold him though but the payoff could be nice. I think Coughlin trusts him more and when he's back I doubt they'll use any other back much, Jacobs had the size/strength over Wilson but Brown is pretty big so no point other than giving Brown a breather, and I highly doubt Coughlin has much faith in Scott or Cox.

PPR:

Jumped off the wagon for the season.

.

Just didn't think the upside was there (if he even suits up again this year -- which I have my doubts about that in a lost season) as a 2 down between the 20's guy. He's had 5 weeks to show something with zero competition and wound up splitting snaps with a guy that doesn't belong in the league anymore (Jacobs) and another who probably doesn't make the roster if A.Brown doesn't get hurt (Scott).
