Day/weekend trip ideas? (1 Viewer)

NeverEnough

Footballguy
I've got some PTO days to burn before the year ends. Looking for some ideas on day trips or weekend type trips to take between now & the end of December. Don't matter where, but let's keep this on the smaller budget side. I'll save the big stuff for my real vacations. (I live in PA)

Also, not going alone. Taking a lady friend.

Yeah knowing where you live might be important here. I could suggest a day trip to Catalina Island, but you live in Southern Georgia.

Doesn't his post say he lives in PA?

Annapolis, DC, Gettysburg, and Brandywine Valley come to mind. Maybe Hudson Valley or Finger Lakes area in NY.

Bear Mountain in NY is also a good spot.

Same with Mohonk Mountain.
lol.

Frank Lloyd Wright's Falling Water house is somewhere in PA- supposed to be beautiful country around there, and the house is amazing.

Catskills... or... Poconos... or NJ shore... or.... Philly... or ... need to know what you want to do during this weekend.

If you're like the guy in the other thread, you could take a train up to NYC and come back with $4,500!

Nice little weekend!

I live about 20 minutes from there, and have visited the house numerous times. This is an excellent suggestion. Some very nice bed and breakfasts in the area as well.

Maybe just cruise down to Skyline Drive in VA.
Lots of wineries down that way, in addition to the drive. Charlottesville may not be a bad stop either -- Monticello, Ash Lawn, and Montpelier all in the area.

Caves are interesting too. (Others there, but example)

ETA: I heard there also is a cool Hot Dog Joint down there...
