DB dilemma (1 Viewer)

Well in order to upgrade my brutally bad O, i had to give away a stud DB in Ronde Barber- but as it stands i need another solid DB as an everyday starter. I do still have Sean Taylor and Dwight Smith but neither are of the "steady" variety :banned: and I would like to add another DB for insurance. The choices are as followsChris GambleGary BaxterAntonie WinfieldMike MinterShaun SpringsAny rookie that isnt Antrell RolleScoring:ALL TD's: 6, Safety: 2INT: 4, Fumble Forced: 1, Fumble Recovered: 2, Pass Defensed: 1Solo Tackle: 1, Assist: .5, Half Sack: 1, Sack: 2Now i hate to pick up a CB as a DB3 but im not sure how minter will pan out this season. Last i heard, Minter's value was at a low because Thomas Davis would play the more prominent role as SS. As for dark horse candidates, Stuart Schweigert and Michael Doss are still avalible. Please help me out and thanks in advance

There's aboslutely nothing wrong with starting a CB when they put up stats are nicely as some of those you listed. Antoine Winfield would be my choice. I'd also give some consideration to Marlin Jackson. Rookie CBs get picked on and this guy is a physical player. Should result in good tackle numbers.

I was thinking Marlin when i targeted these Rookie corners but what is the difference in your mind between the two- Winfield and Jackson? I actually had Jackson stoked ahead of Winfield but close- they both play on teams which have explosive offenses and thus opposing teams have a higher chance of risking the big-play throw downfield. However, Indy's Cover 2 scheme and the fact that he will get picked on alot because hes a rooke gives him the bump up in my mind. Any opinions?

I'd put Winfield over Jackson at this point because we have seen for the last 2 years what Winfield can do. There is no doubt about his skills and his performance on the field. Jackson still hasn't played an NFL game and even though all the scouting reports say he is physical and likes to make tackles, until we see him on the field doing it, it's all conjecture. Plus we know Winfield is a guaranteed starter so long as he is healthy. Jackson could blow a few coverages and get benched for a few games while he does some more learning on the practice field.
