DB Gibril Wilson-IDP Stud (1 Viewer)

NOONAN

Footballguy
As most of us are aware, Wilson is an absolute stud DB in IDP leagues.

This week, he has not practiced Thursday or Friday. Did he practice Wednesday? Is that when the knee got reaggravated/injured?

Any homer updates would be appreciated. TIA.

1. Giants | Wilson misses practice Thursday (KFFL) New York Giants SS Gibril Wilson (knee) did not participate in practice Thursday, Dec. 13. He did do some running on the sidelines during practice. Thu Dec 13 2:02:00 p.m. CT 2007

2. Giants' dealing with beat-up secondary (Rotoworld) Giants FS Gibril Wilson did not practice on Wednesday.Impact: He appears likely to miss at least another game, although he did do some running. SS James Butler also missed practice, and Craig Dahl, who started last week, sat out with a sprained ankle. Michael Johnson was the team's only practicing safety. Thu Dec 13 6:20:00 a.m. CT 2007

3. Giants | G. Wilson does not practice Wednesday (KFFL) New York Giants SS Gibril Wilson (knee) did not practice Wednesday, Dec. 12, but did run on the sideline. Wed Dec 12 4:47:00 p.m. CT 2007

Wilson has a terrible matchup this week too. Safeties have done next to nothing against the Bills this year.

Of course, in a year like this...the way it has been trying to pick DBs, he will probably get 10 solos.

I would sit him, coming off an injury, plus the bad matchup, assuming I had a viable alternative.

Cool ... save me the time going in there looking at the matchup. I agree, the combination of poor matchup and the fact he hasn't played in about a month, look at other options. Thanks AB.

Guys... I disagree; Gibril is a STUD at the position... and we do not BN our Studs. The weather is bad today in Buff, which means the Bills will keep it on the ground when they can or toss little bump off passes. Don't forget, Wilson is Run Coverage and he'll be in the box most of the day; IMHO he his the 2nd best ball hawk on the team next too a healthy Pierce (and Pierce isn't healthy right now). If you Watched SNF last week; you saw how much they missed him. I'm not over thinking this; Wilson is in my Line up.

I might agree, but the fact is Wilson is not healthy, and stud or not, a player who is hurting and has a bad matchup is risky.

AB... is he still injuried? I think he just had a simple knee sprain and has had plenty of time to recover (didn't he finish the game he was injuried in?). Hes practiced all week which to me sounds like if hes not 100%, hes very close to it.Giants | Wilson expected to start Week 16 - Fri Dec 21 7:11:00 p.m. ET 2007 (KFFL) New York Giants SS Gibril Wilson (knee) participated in practice Friday, Dec. 21. He is expected to start Week 16. Giants | Wilson practices Thursday - Thu Dec 20 4:25:00 p.m. ET 2007 (KFFL) New York Giants SS Gibril Wilson (knee) fully participated in practice Thursday, Dec. 20. He should be able to start Week 16.

The first post in this thread said he didn't practice Thursday. Then I noticed that was last week. Even with that, the matchup is bad, and I would sit him if I had a better choice. I will qualify that DBs have been a nightmare all year to pick, so proceed with caution regardless of whether you start him or not.

Thanks AB...

By the way, this kind of thread is why it's better to start new threads for injured players, instead of adding.

I know I'm not the only one who saw the first post and didn't look closely at the date...I thought it was this weeks injury updates.

Good luck this week to everyone.

6 - 2 w/ 1 PD... a solid day
Good call ... he looked 100% to me
did you end up playing him
No ... I stayed with Bob Sanders. I should have sit Tillman down for him, but it's all good, I have a huge lead going into tonite's game.
I liked Tillman's matchup, but who could have predicted the way the Bears game would turn out?
I thought with the weather conditions, he had a good chance for a pick or two and maybe even take one to the house. :)

I did too, but even if he hadn't, he is so good in run defense that I expected a lot more in the way of tackles. But I could have never foreseen the way this game unfolded.
