Last night's Deadwood episode was better than the entire last season of the Soprano's.
Amen. So good to have this back on! Anyone know how many episodes are to air this season?Last night's Deadwood episode was better than the entire last season of the Soprano's. And this is from someone who watches each episode of the Soprano's religiously, while catching Deadwood from time to time.

"Oh would you look at that. Looks like I sat down in a puddle of piss." -Jane. The "Bacon and Eggs" line from Al had me rolling as well.Jane had the best lines of the episode and of her entire showing in the series.
Jane: "The schoolmiss asked me to recount my experiences as a scout in Custer's Army."
Joanie: "I should think I would like to hear that story myself."
Jane: "Custer was a c###. The End."

Not bad to start Season 3. George McRainey's character (Hearst) will definitely be interesting. I hate to say it, but I kinda was hoping Alma would just go ahead and croak. Her character is like a cardboard cutout.
They could do alot to make her more interesting. If you aren't afraid of possible spoilers, google Martha Jane Cannary. It seems she may have been infinately more interesting in real life than on this show. Although I think the actress who plays her is brilliant.Jane had the best lines of the episode and of her entire showing in the series.

Jane is hilarious. Alma isn't as strong as some of hte other characters, but she doesn't bother me.Jane had the best lines of the episode and of her entire showing in the series.

Hell yes. Amazing acting.Best program on the televisions.![]()
Al might well be the finest damned character in the history of TV.
Ian McShane is a great actor. I haven't seen any out on DVD yet, but if you find any episodes of his Lovejoy series they are worth watching.Hell yes. Amazing acting.Best program on the televisions.![]()

I can't find a decent torrent of 3.01. I've downloaded 2 they don't work.No comments about last night's show? I think this continues to be the best show on TV. Hell, it's better than most films.
One of the best episodes yet, and I like all of them. The Swear-engine/Hearst relationship is getting very interesting. I was really wondering if Alma was going to croak until they showed in the previews for the next episode. Farnum trying to pick up votes by dissing Starr (and the hilarious nose gesture). The nose dive off of the podium by the guy disturbing Al's sleep. Al getting back into the killing mode. Great episode.Still haven't figured out why Al intentionally walked into the Hearst/Captain situation and let them whack on him.No comments about last night's show? No doubt. That was brutal.Al: "I'll have mine served cold."
I can't wait.![]()
I think Al was fishing to begin with. When Hearst told him he had a gun pointed at his head, Al knew he had little choice but to follow them inside. I love the answer he gave to Hearst when he asked if he was going to tell him how to work with Alma....I don't remember exactly, something about liking fruity tea......that answer is what got him hammer whacked. I can't believe this is their last season.....One of the best episodes yet, and I like all of them. The Swear-engine/Hearst relationship is getting very interesting. Well, murdering Hearst seems unlikely since that would kill off a good character. Maybe some painful torture?Great episode last night. What will Al's retaliation be for the beating?
Yep, that sucks big time. Probably my favorite all time TV show.I can't believe this is their last season.....![]()

Not that history matters much in this, but it is kinda hard for a saloon owner to off one of America's first capitalist giants and change the course of history. But man, would I love to see it.Well, murdering Hearst seems unlikely since that would kill off a good character. Well we did see Jane from the front. They were foreshadowing, GB.I've just started watching this show. I have the 1st and 2nd season and I am on episode 5. I just got to know... Do you ever get to see the bathtub girl from the opening credits from the front.. that thing is huge.
I'm afraid not. I wish during the opening credits every week though ...I've just started watching this show. I have the 1st and 2nd season and I am on episode 5. I just got to know... Do you ever get to see the bathtub girl from the opening credits from the front.. that thing is huge.

Wyatt Earp will be in several episodes this season.
There is historical precedent, I believe. A little problem with the current sheriff from what I recall.I found this bit of info today:
(mild spoiler)

 Top notch sluthing

IMO, Tolliver is going to be dead soon. Have a feeling Al will smell him out and have him murdered.

Next week looks absolutely explosive. Dan - Capt Turner heavyweight fight on the horizon
Last night seemed like just a big night of letting us know how evil and dominant Hearst is/has become.
Him putting Bullock on notice, when Bullock went over there to put him on notice was some scene.
Agreed on the Bullock scene....the Alma scene was pretty f'in dramatic as well. Definitely agree that we are seeing how evil and dominat Hearst is. Let's see, in the last two episodes he's gotten the best of Al, Bullock, Tolliver and Alma.
to Richardson and Farnum exchanging thumbs up, that relationship is top notchMy memory isn't what it used to be, but my recollection was that Tolliver did have something from Wolcott on Hearst. Tolliver "admitting" that he didn't wasn't surprising, and if my recollection is right, maybe Tolliver is up to something. I could be 180degrees off here though.BTW, what the hell happened to Charlie Utter as a character? He's nothing but bad comic(?) relief now.Tolliver is now a dog working for Hearst.IMO, Tolliver is going to be dead soon. Have a feeling Al will smell him out and have him murdered.
Tolliver did have something on Hearst. He had the letter Wolcott wrote before killing himself implicating Hearst having knowledge and helping cover up all his murders. Tolliver was trying to use it to blackmail Hearst out of money. Tolliver didn't know though, that Hearst had letters from Wolcott saying that Tolliver helped dispose of the bodies he was killing in Deadwood.....which is 100% true. So essentially, Tolliver said to Hearst "F you, I have you in my pocket".....Hearst came back and said "F you harder, I have YOU in my pocket." Hearst seems to be real good at that.My memory isn't what it used to be, but my recollection was that Tolliver did have something from Wolcott on Hearst. Tolliver "admitting" that he didn't wasn't surprising, and if my recollection is right, maybe Tolliver is up to something. I can't remember if he had something from Walcott or not, but whether he does or doesn't it would seem to be neutralized by Hearst having an account of Tolliver's participation. That being said, I find it hard to believe that Tolliver isn't up to something. He didn't seem like someone who would accept the role of lapdog so readily before. Also, I hope they're not setting the Doc up to either die and/or be incapacitated for a while, although it sure seemed like it. The show loses a little, to me, during the scenes where my preferred characters are laid up. Al in S2, Tolliver this season, etc...My memory isn't what it used to be, but my recollection was that Tolliver did have something from Wolcott on Hearst.
