Very deep sleepers that I think are coming on right now: (This is mainly for large deep roster leagues 12/14/16 teams where up to 5 RBs and 7 WRs might be kept)
RUNNING BACKS
Jonathan Dwyer, Pittsburgh; The Steelers coaches like what Dwyer's done to transform into a pro, good dynasty stash or #5 RB on deep rostered leagues. He lost weight, is faster and sees a few catches. Isaac Redman is hobbled and shouldn't be hard to beat out. Chris Rainey is too small to do what the Steelers do, way too small.
Shane Vereen: We all know him, and yes Ridley got the staring job with a great preseason week 3. Vereen also gets dinged too much but if the "buy low" is ever going to be on, it's now. He could crackle for a big catch or two week one and if Ridley fumbles ***just one time*** it's immediately an upside down situation in the Patriots' backfield. Monitor Vereen's ankle carefully.
Taiwan Jones: The Oakland Raider is the clear back up to Darren McFadden, a position that produces every year. Backups in Oakland have basically performed well since the days of Napolean Kaufman the former UW Husky, Zack Crockett, Tyrone Wheatley, Charlie Garner, Justin Fargas (and the list goes on!)
Kendall Hunter: SFO - I didnt like him at first but I wasn't looking very closely. He might get the most carries if Frank Gore starts breaking down and most of his class (guys like Cadillac, Ronnie Brown) among others have already had their fall off due to tired legs. I really love Gore but he he may have lost a step.
Lance Ball of DEN falls into this category too but starter McGahee seems healthier than Gore.
Vic Ballard INDY: The rookie in INDY who should get similar opportunity that Dwyer does though Donald Brown is much more entrenched. If Brown gets bounced around early Ballard is going to see opportunities and hasnt been a mistake prone rookie.
WIDE OUTS
Golden Tate Seattle -- nobody gives him any respect, take him Rd 14 and hope. T.O. didn't make the team, Sidney Rice is Bobby Brittle and Pete Carroll started him last year late season where he did extremely well, well enough so that Doug Baldwin got no consideration for the outside Split end spot and just the slot. Tate has also held off a rejuvenated Braylon Edwards. Thus, Tate has obviously matured greatly, he has the speed to return a punt 92 yards as evidenced against KC 4 day ago; so this is the time to get him in a dynasty and give him September to prove himself. A former second round pick that should emerge like Brandon Lafell does.
Leonard Hankerson WR WAS - Opportunity and health could come together especially if pass catching TE Fred Davis gets suspended as could happen.
Andre Roberts - Michael Floyd cannot beat him out he is steadily improving as well. Worth a shot at WR6 for a team that is not going to be steady and should be behind and have 2 players blanketing Larry Fitzgerald.
