Anyone know if the official ruling for onside kick is DFR or is it in some special category?

Any info would be helpful. Thanks. CLARIFIED ALREADY!

edited to follow up with question: Should D/ST get points for a successful onside kick?

If the receiving team never gains possession or touches the ball how can a fumble take place?

The receiving team DID touch the ball. But that's beside the point -- onside kicks do NOT count as fumble recoveries for fantasy purposes.

THEY did? Who are we talking about? Sounded like we were talking to a general scenario not a specific situation.

I appreciate the clarification. For those asking if I am serious, lighten up. I just wanted to verify in case someone else asked me. The second half of my question is should there be points for a successful onside kick. It is a positive for a special teams and should be rewarded in my opinion.

I presumed that the OP was referring to Atlanta's onside kick recovery today (which was touched by a Pittsburgh player).

Yes, this was the scenario that made me think of it. But, I was wondering more for general purposes.
