DEFENSE! (1 Viewer)

I know there's a lot of talk about IDP but I haven't seen too much talk on Team Defense. I don't know about your league but in my league a good defense can put up more points than a QB. So who do you think at this point in the season is under or over rated. Which defense is starting to come "online" and will be a force the rest of the year? Obviously the Steelers and the Patriots are the cream of the crop right now but will they finish the year that way? I really am starting to like the Titans Def, watching Kyle Vanden Bosch get after the QB is fun to watch. I also like the way Washington is playing right now. I'm so glad I listened to Footballguys advice about drafting a Def early. Taking Chicago and Baltimore in the 5th round is really hurting those guys. Your thoughts?

Depending on your scoring system, Bears' owners aren't that bad off. The rank 3rd in my league (104 pts) behind New England (107) and Pittsburgh (128)...Baltimore is ranked 13th (78). Regardless though, you are probably right, that grabbing Da Bears early has proven not to be a good value so far...I believe I nabbed Andre Johnson in the 5th, who combined with Andre Davis during his injury, has scored 99 total points in our league (performance-based, PPR scoring).

I'm a little concerned about Green Bay. I watched them this weekend get very little pressure on Griese. Does anyone has a source/web site which shows the "sacks allowed" stats? I'd like to see how many Chicago has given up this year as well as a few others.

Also, Denver...I think they'll get the run DEF straightened out during the bye, but even though they are a solid NFL defence with the #1 pass DEF, they haven't been a very good FANTASY DEF.

The Giants would be a nice addition if they are still on the WW - they started off terrible, but have turned it around registering something like 12 sacks week 4 and a defensive TD on an int against the Jets in week 5. Their schedule looks favorable, also, with upcoming games against ATL, SF, MIA, MIN, and CHI

I have the Bears, and they have been doing great, for the scoring in my league. Also, we start one defensive player from our starting defense... so I always get to use Urlacher and Briggs.

In my league Chicago is ranked 8th, not really worthy of a 5th round pick IMO. I had the Texans but they just can't seem to put points up lately. I think with the injuries they're not able to move the chains as much so the Def is spending too much time on the field and not making plays(tired). Is there any team that will be getting their playmaker(s) back soon that will infuse a Defensive

turnaround?

You still gotta love Minny's rush D. They can really lock it down. I also like Tenn as they have some good matchups upcoming

I drafted them in the 5th, and in my league where d's avg -5 they avg +5. even with the rash of injuries they've sustained they are still a top notch aggressive d that produces points.Oh yeah and theres that hester guy...

...and they're getting guys back.

Forty Niners somewhat overrated.... Baltimore O is anemic, Arizona had Leinhart struggling.... A very banged up STL team... etc...

A good defense, but I think they are rated a tad toooooo high.

Arizona... if not underrated now... within a couple weeks.
