:goodposting:   They need to cut the bull and get something passed to help the American people.   Anything that cannot be agreed to should be removed and tried separately in a different bill.

 
I wish people were this outraged about subsidies for the fossil fuel industry and corporations like Amazon and hundreds of other fortune 1000 who don't pay any taxes.  Oh well.

And all of this crap is precisely why they cant even pass a real budget ever.  And even with that said...if they cant even figure this out...get rid of any that are holding this up with complete garbage.

 
Republicans say Democrats are trying to stick in energy provisions, while Democrats say Republicans are trying to reauthorize an abstinence education program.

Exactly. It's a one-time shot for some heavyweight pigs to feast from the trough and requires keen oversight to make sure they don't get away with it. This idea to ram through whatever is asinine.

 
Student loan forgiveness....or a slush fund that is at the discretion of Trump?  I have a pretty good idea which one would be A) better for the individual and B) better for the overall economy.  I also have a pretty good idea which one would be better for Mar-A-Lago.

Fun to see conservatives in here blasting Democrats for not agreeing to a trillion dollar socialist bailout.  The irony has to be killing Bernie Sanders.

I’m not sure what the income cut off should be, but I’d error on the higher side. Someone could make a very good living, say 125K a year. That doesn’t do that much good if they are currently out of work. They might not be destitute right now, but they certainly aren’t out stimulating the economy.

 
There is an amazing thing about people. Just because they think one side is wrong they automatically think the other side is right. Guess what. They can both be wrong.

 
Republicans "pet project" includes attaching corporations, including multi-nationals and megas.

They are refusing to take care of the citizenry first and work out the following up steps.

forgot to mention the $500 billion Mnuchin slush fund, from which he could hand out money like a Gilded Age Santa, to Republican donors and allies or even to Donald Trump's companies, without any disclosure until after the 2020 election.

If there’s any truth to what is being talked about, supposedly McConnell proceeded with the vote, knowing it wouldn’t pass, while they were still negotiating? Then went on to point the finger at Democrats for being the the bad guys? We have our fate (all of us) in the hands of some pretty out of touch people who really don’t give two ##### about us.

every time the government gives you your money back you guys want to call it socialism.

I get that you guys do that because you want to soften the blow of socialism and make it not sound so dangerous, but that doesn't really work. We have over 100 years of history regarding socialism to look at. Pro tip: it's not a good history.  In fact, it's kind of deadly.

I really don’t give 2 ####s what anyone calls it, it just needs to happen.  Congress needs to earn their pay, do their job and Work. The. ####. Together.

I’m not optimistic.  The “tone” of the people who spoke in the senate had an authenticity to it.  The finger pointing is real and feelings are hurt.  I don’t think this is for show.

 
And it’s been said but both parties should be absolutely ashamed of them selves.  This is not a time to sneak in agenda items that would never get the other sides approval.

The bill had zero to do with Trump btw...thankfully he stayed out of this.

It's not just that. Seems like from the reports I have seen they are pushing all they can into it.  Taking advantage of the america people in a time of crisis.  Really sickening on their part.

Like someone said it should be a very simple concept to get this done.

Postal Service has been in this position for years, it’s has nothing to do with the emergency that the country is facing now, it’s ridiculous for the democrats to try and push this and other items that have not been able to get passed in previous bills.

Perfectly aware, the R's wouldn't let the postal service raise stamp fees and had to operate at deficits.

But they still have debt on the books and if the Government is going to hold the debt, might as well be off the Postal Service ledger since other businesses are getting benefits.

I like to see restrictions on what the business are allowed to do with the $$$ they will be getting, no way they should be allowed to buy back stocks or give bonuses to executives and things like that.  I’m glad that the Democrats are trying to make sure that doesn’t happen in the emergency bill.  But, if Republicans or Democrats are trying to include items that failed to pass in previous bills in this emergency bill, that should be unacceptable for all of us citizens.

Even better with the postal service, the highest paid persons are 270k a year as postmaster generals.

 
Regarding the Postal Service, we don’t need a bailout. We need congress to lift the mandate that requires us to pay billions of dollars in healthcare and benefits for decades in the future. No other organization is required to do this. It’s a battle we’ve been fighting for years. Also, that fight belongs nowhere near this bill. Democrats need to fight that battle another day.

Who's stupid mandate?  Yeah. We know which party did that.

They were trying to bury it and get rich by getting paid by the other corporate package carriers.
