This bill should not be about leverage or pet projects. Simply cut a check to whoever you decide will get it and move on.

And all of this crap is precisely why they cant even pass a real budget ever. And even with that said...if they cant even figure this out...get rid of any that are holding this up with complete garbage. They need to cut the bull and get something passed to help the American people. Anything that cannot be agreed to should be removed and tried separately in a different bill.
Good lord, look at your thread title.Ok, but at this time I'm not going to argue with anyone Dem vs Rep. All I know is they need to agree on something and get it in play. I hate politicians.
Vote them all outRepublicans say Democrats are trying to stick in energy provisions, while Democrats say Republicans are trying to reauthorize an abstinence education program.
Exactly. It's a one-time shot for some heavyweight pigs to feast from the trough and requires keen oversight to make sure they don't get away with it. This idea to ram through whatever is asinine. This bill should not be about leverage or pet projects. Simply cut a check to whoever you decide will get it and move on.
Arent the corporations just going to get the money from the people like a day and half after its issued anyway?Could they split the bill into 2 parts? One for checks to the people and one for money to corporations? I understand that in the long run it probably will make sense to get money to the corporations, but why not just deal with one thing at a time?
not all businessesArent the corporations just going to get the money from the people like a day and half after its issued anyway?
With all the crap thrown in, I don't want it passed with that stuff....this is un####ing believable. Disgusting really.I’ll be surprised if a deal isn’t reached by tonight. Sounds like a lot of posturing to me. They’ll get it done.

This. Many companies that may need help aren’t open to receive money from customers.not all businesses
I SAID I WAS SORRY!! FAIR ENOUGH I SAID!! SHEESH!!!Yeah, if you're singling out one party over another for this ####show, you're doing it wrong. Thoroughly wrong.
tack on a rider to that bill of $30 million of taxpayer money to support the perverted artsShould probably tack on a pay raise for congreff too.
Finally, a little sniff for me.tack on a rider to that bill of $30 million of taxpayer money to support the perverted arts
Donald is the new Bernie.Fun to see conservatives in here blasting Democrats for not agreeing to a trillion dollar socialist bailout. The irony has to be killing Bernie Sanders.
Is that how well get to spend $40,000 on hookers and pornstars?tack on a rider to that bill of $30 million of taxpayer money to support the perverted arts
All a game to them. They’re in no financial trouble. If there’s any truth to what is being talked about, supposedly McConnell proceeded with the vote, knowing it wouldn’t pass, while they were still negotiating? Then went on to point the finger at Democrats for being the the bad guys? We have our fate (all of us) in the hands of some pretty out of touch people who really don’t give two ##### about us.
And who thinks that’s a good idea anyways? Let’s encourage people to pull out of the market after its already down 35% and destroy their retirement in the process. So now their talking about letting people take a 100k hardship withdrawal from their 401k’s with no 10 percent penalty (under59 1/2), and pay the income tax back over 3 years. Hmmm, who has 100k left in their 401k.
Yep. All are going home to their cozy mansions tonight. Shameful. All a game to them. They’re in no financial trouble.
And insider stock sell-offs.Yep. All are going home to their cozy mansions tonight. Shameful.
This is not true, I’ll even post The NY Times article. 425 billion is for the Fed not Mnuchin. But keep listening to Joy make up stuffforgot to mention the $500 billion Mnuchin slush fund, from which he could hand out money like a Gilded Age Santa, to Republican donors and allies or even to Donald Trump's companies, without any disclosure until after the 2020 election.
@JoyAnnReid
every time the government gives you your money back you guys want to call it socialism.Fun to see conservatives in here blasting Democrats for not agreeing to a trillion dollar socialist bailout. The irony has to be killing Bernie Sanders.
I really don’t give 2 ####s what anyone calls it, it just needs to happen. Congress needs to earn their pay, do their job and Work. The. ####. Together.every time the government gives you your money back you guys want to call it socialism.
I get that you guys do that because you want to soften the blow of socialism and make it not sound so dangerous, but that doesn't really work.
I’m not optimistic. The “tone” of the people who spoke in the senate had an authenticity to it. The finger pointing is real and feelings are hurt. I don’t think this is for show.I’ll be surprised if a deal isn’t reached by tonight. Sounds like a lot of posturing to me. They’ll get it done.
Didn’t read the rest of the thread or the facts of that GoP bill did you?Shocking said no one ever.
Dems only want one thing, to make Trump look bad. Screw them and screw poilitcs in general.. Leave it to the Dems to play politics with peoples lives to make an enemy of theirs look bad
But its okay for other business to receive funds? Just not the postal service? Can’t believe that Democrats are trying to include forgiving the Postal Service debt in this emergency bill. This is just nuts.
It's not just that. Seems like from the reports I have seen they are pushing all they can into it. Taking advantage of the america people in a time of crisis. Really sickening on their part. Can’t believe that Democrats are trying to include forgiving the Postal Service debt in this emergency bill. This is just nuts.
Did he work on it? The opposition also has been explained and it was damn right for them to oppose that crap.Come on you really aren't this naive are you? LOL
WowDid he work on it? The opposition also has been explained and it was damn right for them to oppose that crap.
Postal Service has been in this position for years, it’s has nothing to do with the emergency that the country is facing now, it’s ridiculous for the democrats to try and push this and other items that have not been able to get passed in previous bills. But its okay for other business to receive funds? Just not the postal service?
Perfectly aware, the R's wouldn't let the postal service raise stamp fees and had to operate at deficits.Postal Service has been in this position for years, it’s has nothing to do with the emergency that the country is facing now, it’s ridiculous for the democrats to try and push this and other items that have not been able to get passed in previous bills.
I like to see restrictions on what the business are allowed to do with the $$$ they will be getting, no way they should be allowed to buy back stocks or give bonuses to executives and things like that. I’m glad that the Democrats are trying to make sure that doesn’t happen in the emergency bill. But, if Republicans or Democrats are trying to include items that failed to pass in previous bills in this emergency bill, that should be unacceptable for all of us citizens.Perfectly aware, the R's wouldn't let the postal service raise stamp fees and had to operate at deficits.
But they still have debt on the books and if the Government is going to hold the debt, might as well be off the Postal Service ledger since other businesses are getting benefits.
Even better with the postal service, the highest paid persons are 270k a year as postmaster generals.I like to see restrictions on what the business are allowed to do with the $$$ they will be getting, no way they should be allowed to buy back stocks or give bonuses to executives and things like that. I’m glad that the Democrats are trying to make sure that doesn’t happen in the emergency bill. Who's stupid mandate? Yeah. We know which party did that.Regarding the Postal Service, we don’t need a bailout. We need congress to lift the mandate that requires us to pay billions of dollars in healthcare and benefits for decades in the future. No other organization is required to do this. It’s a battle we’ve been fighting for years. Also, that fight belongs nowhere near this bill. Democrats need to fight that battle another day.
