Denarius Moore PPR Leagues (1 Viewer)

Buck Stop

Trying to figure out if he's healthy enough, and a big enough part of the Raiders offense to make him a safe/good start this weekend. Anyone watch the game last week and have any thoughts they could share?

I'm actually considering a PPR slot guy like Hawkins over him as I just don't know how many targets he'll get, or how healthy he really is. Any Raiders homers have any 411?

Cramped up a couple of times but overall I thought he looked good and he was very involved. Palmer targeted him frequently.

I think he remains a high-upside WR3. He could blow up on any given week or get hurt on any given week.

Reading this makes me want to start him this week:

What did you think of wide receiver Denarius Moore's first game back?

Palmer: “I thought he looked good. He and I got a lot of reps today. I jumped in on every rep with him today. We haven't thrown since really last season because he was out for all of OTAs and then all of training camp. And that was our first time, and I missed him on some things I shouldn't have missed him on. So we're just a little bit off on our timing and accuracy, but that's just something that we need to rep and we repped it. I threw a ton of balls at him today. I don't know how many it was, but I'll throw a bunch with him today and tomorrow's another good day to get some reps with one-on-ones and things like that. We're going to start catching our stride here pretty soon.”

I think he looks healthy but that offense looks terrible so far. Hopefully Denarius's ability to stretch the field will help the Raiders to open up the offense a bit but at most I only expect 5-6 catches.

If I had a WR rated better than Denarius this week I would easily start the other guy in PPR!

Keep in mind D.Thomas had a big game against this same Steelers D. So I think the opportunity is there if Palmer has any touch on the ball tomorrow.

@CBSRaiders: Greg Knapp said WR Denarius Moore will get more snaps Sunday than in his debut: “You can tell he’s getting his legs back underneath him.”

Don't know if I would use that game as an example since most of his yardage came on a 70+ yard screen pass for a TD...
The key thing is that I'm comfortable that Thomas will get consistant targets all over the route tree to make himself a viable PPR threat whereas our history of Denarius up until last week is that he is most targeted on the deep, boom or bust type routes. I'm hoping Denarius can get into quick sync with Palmer and the new OC has plans to target him all over the field but until I actually see it happen and see the Raiders able to move the football on offense then I'm going to be a skeptic, especially in PPR!Like I said, unless you have someone who FBG has ranked better then Denarius then I think he needs to be started. As of tonight the only for sure guy I'd be comfy starting who are currently ranked below him is Lance Moore in PPR. I could even understand someone wanting to start Hartline or McCluster over Moore this week but most anyone else is just a crap shoot.

D.Moore had ten targets yesterday and most of them were short to intermediate routes. He also got a couple of targets within ten yards of the endzone: one on a fade that was neutralized on a false start and another that resulted in his TD.With DHB hurt from a nasty hit, I wouldn't be surprised to see Moore really emerge here. Palmer is playing quite well and slinging the ball more than ever (since coming to the Raiders).

If he can stay healthy I think Moore has Top 20-25 potential. At some point he and Palmer are going to connect on big plays downfield. They're clearly still struggling with their timing but Moore has a ton of talent and with Oakland WRs dropping like flies the opportunity couldn't be better for him.

I watched a lot of the game and I agree, Moore looks to be a MAJOR part of that offense now. He made several great plays yesterday and if they can give Palmer time, I see more deep balls in his future. Kid is a rising star for sure.

Clear #1 on the team. I think he'll be a solid FF WR2 the rest of the year. Our D blows so they'll be passing a lot.

He just missed a long TD last Sunday. If Palmer had thrown a better ball it would've gone for a score.
He's going to break out sooner than later, you can just feel it.
I agree. Palmer's targeting him a ton like you said and at some point they're going to connect for big plays downfield. That's a huge part of Moore's game and it will show up at some point. I said previously that if he can stay healthy I could see him finishing as a Top 20-25 WR. There's no denying his talent and given Oakland's sorry defense they'll likely be throwing it a lot this season.

Palmer loves him and I expect him to be heavily targeted the rest of the season. If only Palmer could throw a good deep ball, we could be looking at a breakout season. Should still be a solid WR3, and a WR2 matchup play. I'm hoping that he has a monster game soon to sell high off of, just can't trust anyone as a starter for me in the Raiders passing game.

That doesn't seem to jibe with the first part of your statement where you give him a ringing endorsement. Place Moore in some sort of ranking for me; is he more valuable than Hartline, L. Robinson, S. Smith (CAR), or Austin, to throw out some names?

Denarius Moore is going to be fine. I think his floor is going to be higher than most expect with all the targets he gets from Carson Palmer, and Palmer seems to gush about Moore whenever asked about his WR's. But the OP was worried about his first week back from the hammy issue and he's put together 2 solid games with no issues so it's safe to say the injury is behind him. Maybe (crossing fingers)

But the real thing to keep a tab on is the health of Darrius Heyward Bey. He's back on the field practicing during the bye week and that's a really good sign for Denarius Moore owners. DHB on the other side helps draw coverage off of Moore and open space and accomdate different routes than he was able to attempt. They are coming off the bye week drawing the red hot Falcons and you can expect the Raiders will have to air it out quite a bit to keep up. Should be a good game for Moore.
