***Denver at San Diego MNF*** (1 Viewer)

Buckhalter looks good, and since I'm a Moreno owner, I don't really like to see that. I wonder if its simply a 50/50 RBBC the rest of the year? If so, Knowshon's not really worth starting, is he?

I love the fact that McDaniels finally realized that Scheffler exists over the last two weeks. He's a weapon.
I was wondering what was missing from this thread! Here, one on me: :lmao:
:lmao: Elvis Dumervil is a monster wrapped in a beast, battered in a demon, fried in an ogre, sprinkled with boogeyman, and served over a bed of troll. I seriously cannot understand how he lasted until the 4th. He was the most prolific pass rusher in NCAA history (breaking Terrell Suggs' single-season sack record), but because he was "too short" (too short for what? Obviously he wasn't too short to rush the passer...) he fell in the draft until the Broncos took him and, hey, guess what, it turned out he was pretty good at rushing the passer. Who'da thunk it?He just got sack #10 on the season while I was typing this.
Sig'd

That and he catches well.He fumbled as I was posting this... I'm on the other end, a Buckhalter owner and was pretty happy with what I was seeing until that fumble.

Yep. Moreno owner here. Without injury, Moreno is going to see half of what he could. Why mess with success if you are McDaniels?

I honestly don't think either of us are going to happy. Unless you're desperate or one gets hurt, I suspect it simply won't be worth it to start either one.

Isn't this how every Denver backfield has been for quite some time?

I agree with that. THere will be games where one is better than the other due to the big play - or because they had great success all game on the ground, I just don't think it's going to be that top 5 like FBGs projected this week. I had a feeling about this game, sat him. Hate to say I was right, but I just do not see Buckhalter going away, plus I figured SDC Def would be better off the bye.

Unfortunately yes. But I drafted Moreno in the 5th or 6th (I can't even remember anymore) with the hope that, as many people predicted, by the middle of the year he would be THE main guy in Denver. I know we're not quite at the middle of the year yet, but I don't think that's going to happen.

For the cost of Buckhalter, I'm pretty happy as is. He's averaging 8 pts per game (that he's played in) in my league so far and as of right now has 7.5 pts already in tonight's game. He's been a great waiver pick up so far. Decent bye week filler and/or RB3 or RB4 IMO if the split remains 50/50.

I am not saying it is a bad move, if it pays off BOOYAH. I have just been burned too many times trying to find the right piece of the denver RB pie.Of course I must admit that I own Ricky AND ronnie... so I am good at criticizing others but not myself

It seems McDaniels definetly comes from that BB school of thought with RB's. Keep a stable of interchangeable guys, who can all do a little bit of everything. Skeletor is gone, but the RBBC remains.

Orton has underthrown or thrown wide to Royal on the four targets I've seen. Either Royal is being covered well, or Orton and Royal appear to still not be quite on the same page.

It hasn't been a 50/50 split so far- even when both have been healthy, Moreno's been getting a slight edge in touches. Even if it stays a split, I think Moreno's worth starting as an RB2 or in the flex. Moreno and Buckhalter had combined for 769 yards and 3 TDs through the first five weeks (154 yards a week). Obviously the TDs are low, but if Moreno's even getting half of that yardage on a weekly basis, that's on pace for a 1230 yard season.

The biggest praise I can heap on Mike Nolan is that, under his direction, Denver's best players on the field are the best players on the field. Under Slowik, Dumervil/Bailey/Williams were the best defenders, but they were all invisible. Under Nolan, it seems that one or the other of them is behind every single big play the unit makes. Turns out all Denver needed on defense was for its studs to, you know, be studs.

Short field, don't agree with that.

EDIT: Not as short as I thought, lol. Still would have pinned them.

DJ Williams would have intercepted that?

How would he have caught it, with the back of his head?

You know Jaws, once in a while it's ok to criticize a QB

And immediately after posing that, Champ Bailey and D.J. Williams combine to break up a 4th down pass. That's what I'm talking about- Denver's big-time players are making big-time plays. With that said, I rag on Turner a lot, but I like him going for it on 4th and 8 there. Denver should have gone for it on 4th down in the same situation on the other side of the field. Too far for a FG, too short for a punt to get more than 20 yards of field position or so.And Tony Scheffler once again reminds why he's one of the best receivers at the TE position in the entire NFL.
