Rumor is Cobbs may be the next one off to NYJ...

I like it, I've been saying all week that the Jets WONT go after Duckett if it costs them a 3rd round pick. I think Cobbs could easily cost the Jets a 5th or 6th rounder, which is what they should be giving up- or not even a draft pick. Maybe they can give the Broncos a player that they would be cutting too.

I see Cobbs being cut, so this trade makes sense for Denver... and the Jets don't need a #1 back, just someone that can bolster what they already have and get them through what looks to be an ugly season

Same could have been said about Harrington and the Dolphins...If he's cut, and other teams want him, then you get into a bidding war for a cut player... trading for him, if done right, can guarantee that you get him. All they have to do is give up a 6th rounder or some scrub from their team who could be cut.

The other problem is what if he's part of the last round of roster cuts? In that case, he gets into your camp on September 4th or 5th, and then your season starts on September 10th. That's not a lot of time to get him up to speed, teach him your offense, or even see how good he really is.

Yea, my buddy has been high on Cobbs since he was drafted, he too was a Hog. Cobbs to NY makes sense, but I wouldn't expect him to grab the #1 and run away with it

Both of these Cedrics are from Arkansas. C Cobbs is from Little Rocl and played with the Razorbacks. I believe that C Houston is from Clarendon (somewhere in East Ark) but he went to Tennessee. So some poetic justice might be played out if Cobbs goes to the Jets and grabs the starting spot.

Bill Williamson, of the Denver Post, reports the Denver Broncos could entertain offers for other backup players. There has been speculation the New York Jets are interested in RB Cedric Cobbs.

The problem is Cobbs really had no value until he ended up with the Broncos. Now, it's like other teams have been tricked into thinking he has some NFL level talent. I compare this to when the Braves would sign some scrub pitcher, Leo mazzone would turn him into an All Star and the Yankess or some other team would pay them way too much money. I do not think the Jets or any other team would be very happy if they traded for Cobbs.
