Denver without Kubiak seems to be having some issues offensively (1 Viewer)

Last week an 18-10 loss to the Rams who haven never been known to be a defensive juggernaut

and now it's 6-6 against the Chiefs going into overtime.

that is only16 total points in 8 quarters of football against two teams ranked

The Rams were the 29th ranked team in 2005 in total yards and 31st in terms of total points allowed

The Chefs were the 25st ranked team in 2005 in total yards and 16th in terms of total points allowed

All I keep seeing over and over is Plummer's face after the interception in the playoff game that knocked them out last year. He looked totally helpless and defeated.

And Coach Skeletor looked like he was ready to kill.

My point...Jay Cutler. It's time folks.

If they bring in Cutler it means they have no aspirations of reaching the Super Bowl this year. With a couple of notable exceptions, rookies struggle mightily their first season. Plummer hasn't looked good at all so far but he could easily turn it around. Cutler will take a year or so to get used to the NFL.

Plummer will be fine. The guy has to many weapons to not produce and he has a great offensive system in place. The team is 1-1. It has not been pretty but he won't lose the job this year unless he is hurt.

I think that neither the Rams nor the Chiefs will end up as a bottom quartile defense like they were last year. Frankly I wouldn't be surprised to see one of them finish top-ten.

16th ranked scoring defense = bottom quartile?"Chef" continues to be the most moronic team name alteration in all of sports.Even worse than "Yinkees".

three field-goals today, although the last overtime drive was fairly impressive
Stats wise, they looked decent (on paper) except Plummer, but a lot of mistakes @ key times forced many punts. Gotta give credit to the KC D gameplan though. They played tough controlling the run and Jake wasn't able to make enough plays on his own to take control of the game (even w/ a few gift turnovers). I was optimistic about them rebounding this week @ home in what are usually high scoring games w/ KC, but something's not right w/ that offense - and it primarially points to plummer. Also was considering trading for T Bell (to go w/ M Bell in a large league), but will look elsewhere now.Why DEN didn't run M Bell wide (where he had success most of the day) @ the 2 is beyond me. Then Jake mis-fires a couple passes, and needs OT to pull it out. Also noticed a lot more straight drops vs. roll outs fwiw.IMO Denver will come around, but another game or 2 like these by Jake and it'll be hard not to see what Cutler could do - since the running game is working pretty well. If they lose @ NE (a strong possibility at this point) starting 1-2, Cutler may get his chance after the bye.

also note, week 1 and week 2 last year, Plummer wasn't so hot either. maybe he is a slow starter?

2005 Week 1: 251 yds, 1 Td, 2 Ints, 1 Fumble

2005 Week 2: 248 yds, 0 Td, 1 Int

3 Ints, a Fumble and only 1 Td pass in the first two games last year...

Guess we will find out if he starts to click in week 3... ( 1 pass, 1 rush Td but only 152 yds, vs the Chiefs week 3 last year on Monday night)

No offense, but I really don't get this type of reasoning (or optimism). 2006 <> 2005OK, he was playing like crap @ the beginning of last season - just like he is this year. If I'm a Plummer owner, (which I'm thankfully not), I don't see how this makes me feel much better about Jake going forward. Especailly w/ a high first round QB waiting to show what he can do.

I'm a little concerned about Denver's offense, but I'm still convinced they'll finish the season as a top-10 unit. There are too many weapons, Shanahan has too much history, and they were far too good in the preseason for anything else.

Remember, too, that Denver had three very very good scoring chances turn into 6 points. If Denver converts two of those first-and-goals, I suspect there's no concern regarding their offense at the moment. At this point in the season, one or two plays has such a huge impact and sort of distorts the reality a little.

Denver lost week 1 last season against, at the time, an awful Miami team. I doubt that mattered much when they played in the AFC title game. As much as I am not a fan of denver or Shanny, you cannot ignore the history of success. I'd be surprised if denver doesn't get it together in short order.

No, it isn't. Cutler is a rookie! Putting him in would be like saying that 2006 is a rebuilding year. The offense, as a whole, has not looked good, but that is not all on Plummer. The pass blocking was horrific in week 1, and the entire offense, not just Plummer, looked out of synch for the majority of yesterday's game. I don't look for them to break out next week vs. New England, but with a bye in week 4, that will give them two weeks to work on fixing things.

I don't profess to be a Bronco expert, but I do think it is time for the Broncos to consider Cutler. I own Plummer in multiple leagues.

I think Jake's confidence is shaken. It happens, see PManning in the playoff crunch time. See Mike Vanderjerk as of late.

I don't believe the "rookie QBs always fail" theory, as Big Ben would make a good argument.

I think it depends on the talent and coaching surrounding the QB. I just happen to think that Cutler's confidence is at an amazing high right now. What would it hurt to bring him in every 3rd series? Maybe Jake's confidence?

I think the Broncos are in serious doubt of making the playoffs after week 2 if they don't consider the option of Cutler. But, I think Skeletor is arrogant and likes to be the contrarian. So, Isee him sticking with Jake and the Broncos make the playoffs, only to bow out against a better team again.

Jake Plummer is worse than Peyton in the playoffs. He makes poor decisions, and he is limited in his role in the offense to begin with.

Give Cutler a chance.
