Thanks for the headsup.Reports are that Big Mike Williams and Ben Obomanu are both unlikely to play Sunday. That leaves Deon Butler. Not a bad play for those desperate for WR help, especially in ppr.
Rotoworld 12-9-10Williams, Obomanu looking unlikely to play
Mike Williams (ankle, foot) and Ben Obomanu (lacerated hand) are unlikely to practice this week.
Seahawks coach Pete Carroll said they could still play this weekend even if they don't get in any practice time, but we find that highly unlikely. Team trainers are trying to figure out the best way to deal with Williams' sprained left ankle and strained left foot but have thus far been unsuccessful. Obomanu's hand just needs time to heal. It looks like Deon Butler, Golden Tate and Brandon Stokley will be Seattle's top three receivers Sunday. Dec. 9 - 11:27 am et

Butler has underachieved for almost two seasons and Tate's only done that for half of one. Although both would probably do better if they weren't thrown fade routes while being guarded by a corner 6 inches taller than them. My guess as far as # of receptions Stokely-Tate-Butler. Butler's probably the "big play guy" (aka guy Clements PIs most against) and Tate will hopefully be a YAC guy and end up with the most yards. Basically, a mess.Question for any Seattle homers here. Is the consensus Butler over Tate?

For the most part I agree with everything you have said, although I wouldn't really say Butler has underachieved. I think he's basically shown us what he is - an occasional big play guy but can't be relied on for regular contribution. I agree Tate is probably the safest bet for catches and yards. FWIW - they said early this week that Obamanu and Williams would probably not practice all week and no status would be known until Saturday at the earliest. So I don't think that becasue they are not practicing is any greater indication that they will not play.mad sweeney said:Butler has underachieved for almost two seasons and Tate's only done that for half of one. This is was what I was expecting to see today. The stuff from Rotoworld is just pure speculation grounded in nothing but a hunch.Seahawks defensive end Chris Clemons returned to practice today, after sitting on Wednesday to nurse a sore ankle.
But both receiver Mike Williams (ankle) and Ben Obomanu (hand) remained out for a second straight day.
Those two not practicing was expected. The day head coach Pete Carroll was shooting for is Friday, so we'll see if both of those guys can get on the field tomorrow and see what they can do.
Thanks.Hopefully we know more today.http://blog.thenewstribune.com/seahawks/

Why don't the Seahawks play Butler in the slot? With his (lack of) size, it seems like the ideal spot for him.mad sweeney said:Butler has underachieved for almost two seasons and Tate's only done that for half of one. Butler is going to finish with better than 40 receptions in his second year and is a regular contributor. How is that underachieving for a 2nd year guy drafted in the 3rd round?mad sweeney said:Butler has underachieved for almost two seasons and Tate's only done that for half of one. Obo cut his hand...it's not broken. Tape tht puppy up and let's GO!!!
I think they were expecting mire production from him and he had several dropsies last year. I'm not calling him a bust or a scrub but more was expected from him especially with the injuries at WR. I think taking Tate this year was a sign that expectations for Butler have dropped.Butler is going to finish with better than 40 receptions in his second year and is a regular contributor. What injury? Just watching on sportsline. That injury look nasty though... I'm pretty sure both bones broke.
Looked like his knee or tibia bent a long way, the wrong way. Had the sound turned off in disgust but really wish I hadn't watched the slo mo replay. What injury? Just watching on sportsline. That injury look nasty though... I'm pretty sure both bones broke.

According to Pete Carroll, Deon Butler has a broken leg. What injury? Just watching on sportsline. That injury look nasty though... I'm pretty sure both bones broke.
Because all the fines should help cancel it out.WTF is Goodell thinking with an 18 game season. Some teams are hiring guys off the street, and starting them, because of injuries.
Imagine two players running at each other at full speed and one of them taking a knee square onto the shin.According to Pete Carroll, Deon Butler has a broken leg. What injury? Just watching on sportsline. That injury look nasty though... I'm pretty sure both bones broke.
Uh Oh. I just noticed that. I jinxed him!Scary looking injury... I feel bad for Butler.Talk about scary foreshadowing with the thread title... YIKES!
