DeSean Jackson ranked WR #27 (1 Viewer)

The site has D.Jax ranked WR #27, behind guys like Bowe (sorry QB and facing Steelers) and TB M.Williams. The Eagles face the Pats horrid secondary and Maclin may not suit up. I expected to see a high ranking so what am I missing?

The key here is where you think he should be ranked.

I figured he would be a WR1, based on the matchup and Maclin missing the game. ESPN has him at #9.http://sports.espn.go.com/fantasy/football/ffl/story?page=11ranksWeek12WRSo just trying to see what I'm missing. Good call from the above poster on the foot, although I thought he played through that in the last game.

He's been pretty terrible all year. WR27 is actually generous. This guys is averaging about 2 to 3 catches per game and if you're really lucky, he'll showboat the other team and get a 50 yard gain taken away for being the total idiot he is.

Seems high - I have him at WR40.

Posts like this aren't necessary. These boards are for insight and discussion. If you don't want to provide either then stay out of the thread. Geez....
agreed....Thats what the forum is for. People should be banned for that.He is questionable which could make a difference.

Seems about right. He posted double-digits last week (in PPR)... so history shows that his next 2 games are likely to be in single digits.

He's fast... REALLY fast. And that's that.

in all seriousness the 'horrible pats d' is a misnomer. Their D has been gelling and playing decently lately. The average rank probably has to do with what feels like it'll be a lower scoring game w /reduced # of possessions for each side. Between VY/shady grinding it out & the eagles decent pass d and crappy run d, the pats will likely run all day on the eagles. That and the fact that VY is throwing.

Odds are both of the teams you mention (chiefs/buccs) will be down early and throwing a LOT more than the eagles. Prolly why they are higher.a lot more goes into projections than just the talent level of the WR.

Tough call to in my opinion. On the one hand Jackson has been a top wide receiver in the past and the patriots have been giving up a lot a big plays. On the other hand you don't know if you can trust VY to get him the ball. Jackson's never really been a go and getair WR and Vince Young has thrived with guys like Kenny Britt you can throw it up to. On top of that DeSean getting injured and continuing to not explode in matchup games like the Cards last week makes it hard to trust him over guys like Antonio Brown who seem to get regular targets. Personally I'm struggling with this one trying to decide between Nicks, Antonio Brown and the DeSean. I love to DeSeans matchup but in the end he is risky to me.
