Desperation Week (1 Viewer)

I laid the groundwork last week with the owner and will now be targetting Moss heavily this week. He faces Buffalo and should have a nice game so if you want to target him, do it now.
I tried to deal Moss this week for some RB help. After Grant went down, that left me with Spiller, MB3 and Harrison at RB2 and I actually have some other decent WR options in TO, Mark Clayton and Dez Bryant (along with whatever WR I could pry away as part of the trade). Not one bite so far. I asked about a deal for Bradshaw and Nicks and I was pretty much laughed at.

Personally some of my buy low favorites:

J. Charles - His useage through two weeks is a big concern and it's for real. That said, being a JC owner in a couple of leagues I am well aware that his value is slipping fast.... and like a pendulum I think it has swing too far. He's the best possible 12-13 touch RB you can have on your team right now. What we saw weeks 1 and 2 might very well stay that way, but chances are that it was his floor and you can get him a whole lot cheaper now than on draft day.

Mathews - Week one in a monsoon wasn't that bad actually. Week 2 he looked night-and-day different until he got injured. Many people are growing overly concerned for no justafiable reason.

Brandon Marshall - Despite his lack of stud production, I have seen enough to know that the ball will be forced in his direction all season long. He will have games where he does more with those balls than he did weeks 1 and 2 and on those weeks his stat line will explode. The important thing is that he's still getting you doulbe digit points on his "off" weeks (ppr leagues).

Shonn Green - This one is a little risky in that he might stay on his 12 carry pace, but I'm encourgaed by the one or two screen passes that have gone in his direction as well as the coaches mentality to stick with him despite the fumbles. I also think he will gain confidence at the same rate that LT wears down. By fantasy playoff time he could very well be running wild.

Demaryius Thomas - ok, so the buy low was last week. That said, I think he's worht "over paying" for right now. We are about to see the effect of a "McDaniels guy" in full effect. He took this guy ahead of Dez. He's freak who everyone said was "too raw" to have an immediate impact. Clearly that is not the case and McDaniels will prove everyone wrong about DT and he will prove that dumping Marshall was the right move. This is his first real chance to show that he's made a smart transaction on that team and I don't think he will let it go without milking it. He has the system to make DT a stud and Orton is quickly evolving into a QB that can support it. Once Demaryius entered the lineup on Sunday it seemed like he was targeted every other play.

Here are a few players you should not buy low, because they really might continue to suck:

Dallas RBs - Gross. This doesn't appear to be a situation that will change without injury. If Dallas was good enough as a team to ride a lead, then maybe they could begin to support two guys at 12-15 touches each.... but that's not what I'm seeing. I'm steering way clear of this fantasy mess.

Stewart - If DeAngelo ain't producing then I don't think Stewart will fare much better. In other words, the entire team could be on the verge of a nasty collapse. It would suck to see so much RB talent go to waste, but unless you can get Stewart dirt cheap, I would not risk swooping in right now. DeAngelo is a much better buy low I think - however I doubt people are wanting to dump him too cheap quite yet.

Moss - I'm a little worried that NE is going to continue to utilize their new TE toys, not to mention Tate. I could very well be dead wrong on this though. Moss still seems to have skills. It's more a question of the direction NE is headed. Moss might be too sporatic to match his pre-season ranking.

Fitzgerald - You won't get him cheap enough to justify the risk. Bad QB play is taking it's toll not only in production, but he is now dealing with nagging injuries from getting beat up on the field as he has to adjust and fight for every ball thrown in his direction. Max Hall might be a better option - but the chances of a rookie QB completely turning things around are slim.

Here's a couple of guys I would definately consider selling high:

Collie - I think he will be a good WR3 but you might be able to get over-hyped WR2 value out of him. He's the 3rd option some weeks, and 4th or 5th option otherweeks. Week 1 was a lot of garbage time yards and week 2 would have sucked if not for the short TD.

Forte - This depends on how much you could get for him. I like receiving backs, but the way he gets his stats appear to be smoke and mirrors to me. We also might get more of Chester as the season rolls along and they realize how good he is (a lot better than Forte on run plays and also a very good receiver)

LeSean McCoy - This is the epitome of a sell high. He might continue to be a good RB2, but I bet right now a lot of people would be willing to pay RB1 value for him. The few big plays and TDs that boosted his stat line will not be consistent. If I owned him I would be shopping for someone like Turner or Mathews.

Mark Clayton - If anyone's naieve enough to buy him, sell now. Those receivers will tkae turn having decent days and none of them will be consistent producers.

Steve Smith (NYG)

His numbers are off to a slow start and Nicks is getting all the hype. This guy was gold in PPR last year and can be had for cheap if an owner is down on him. He's still getting the most looks in the NYG offense, and with Boss hurt, he should get even more of the underneath/short routes.

I just traded for him in one league. Amazingly, all it took was Tim Hightower to steal him away.

in a league im in, chris johnson for ryan mathews and arian foster just went down. imo, thats highway robbery.

on sunday, after best's performance my friend verbally offered me gore for him. but he rescinded it after monday. trades cant be accepted till the games are over.

I just had a 3-for-1 trade accepted in my 2-QB league by the 0-2 Frank Gore owner.

Pitched him a package deal of Ryan Mathews, Michael Bush and Malcom Floyd.

I'm probably overpaying but I really believe in Gore this year and will grab Anthony Dixon off the wire for insurance.

Will have the peace of mind knowing I have both the San Fran & Baltimore rushing attacks (Rice & McGahee) locked up along with Jahvid Best.

Won't even need to fret about RBs on the wire going forward.

it's gotten to the point in the FFL world though where trades are practically impossible because of threads like this though. No one wants to sell low, buy high, or any of that.So I can go after some star who's struggled like MJD and the owner will just be like: "I invested a #3 in this guy and he got his bad weeks out of the way early and now he's gonna blow up, and you think NOW is the time I want to trade him?"Sometimes I just wish trading were banned.... because if i were a MJD owner i would just be deleting trade rape offers.
I disagree. So many sharks, hawks, and various other animals are so busy trying to sell a certain guy before they crash I think it's actually a great time to buy before the value goes higher.Example: DMC - everyone is trying to dump him before his value crashes. I don't think his value WILL crash (relatively speaking...he won't put up 150 yards every game). I think you're actually buying him *low* right now but because everyone is trying to sell high you're actually getting some good value. The uber studs don't move that easily but you can have a field day with others. Really, if you just follow these threads and do the opposite of what most people are saying you'll probably do rather well for yourself.

I am not sure about LeSean McCoy... I would have to get better than Turner or Matthews in a PPR league. Who would be good to target if you wanted to sell McCoy high?

I don't see how Romo and Mendy fit on a list of buy low.

Romo - passed for over 650 yds in 2 games, he hasn't got the TDs but no one will be selling him low.

Mendy - one good game and one game against a tough D, if adding Mendy to the list maybe we should also include CJ as he had a bad game.
Mendy didn't have a good game week 1. He had 70 yards on around 20 carries at the end of regulation. He busted a long TD in OT to win it, but he had a bad game up to that point. That being said, when Ben gets back, defenses will be forced to respect the pass more, and Mendy should do better.
