I had to stop watching, as you said it's too painful. Thankfully it is now football season in all it's forms, helps to wash baseball out of my mind. And I'm also looking forward to the Pistons later this year, fun team to watch.
I look at the lineup from top to bottom, and then the pitching staff. It is terrible, how they ever jumped out to that big a lead is a minor miracle to begin with.
Have to hand it to Cleveland, they are 17-3 the last 20 games with a lineup that does not look much better. If Tigers get a couple wins they can still back into the playoffs as Astros keep losing but that would be a joke!
John Smoltz for Doyle Alexander is a pretty good example.
As a Cubs homer I can relate: Dylan Cease for Jose Quintana and Josh Donaldson for Rich Harden. Both trades were made because the Cubs needed one solid starter down the stretch, and mortgaged the future as a result.
At least they are finally showing some life. I still don't think they win a playoff series and their trade deadline line was awful, but hopefully I am wrong.
