Torii!!!!!
I figured one or both of these games would turn. It is great to see the Tigerss bats coming up big lately. The Tigers need to win this. The Royals are just not going to roll over.BobbyLayne said:Nice win, good job by Soria.
ChiSox bullpen ####ed the dog hard, as expected. What a sorry ### team.
With 3 "closers" in Nathan, Soria, & Johnson, what we lack in quality we make up in quantity.Getting a good arm in the bullpen would be huge for the playoffs. I can't see the Tigers being successful against top teams with the current bullpen.i know it was just one outing but Joakim Soria looked pretty good a couple of days ago.Pitching Nathan more than one day in a row is dicey.
Freep Tigers @freeptigers 2m
In the Target Field bullpen right now, Anibal Sanchez is having his latest throwing session.
Porcello cruising - retired the last 8 batters he faced while throwing 31 pitches - but no, let's manage by the book and bring our non-closer for his 7th BS.16mTwinsRadio@TwinsRadio
.@JDMartinez14 just hit his 8th 9th inning homer. Only A-Rod (8 in 2007) & Tony Bautista (10 in 2000) have hit 8+ 9th inning HRS in a Season
Nathan just needs to go. I would rather see Coke close. But really should give the ball to Soria the rest of the way.Soria for President!!!
umm, first blown save in over a month. Second loss since all star break. Just sayin...Nathan just needs to go. I would rather see Coke close. But really should give the ball to Soria the rest of the way.Soria for President!!!
He leads the league in blow jobs. His ERA/WHIP bites. He has a negative WAR. Every outing is shaky. Even three run leads don't seem safe.umm, first blown save in over a month. That's the proper spin for the media and fans. The unfiltered translation: Ezekial, you're 27, been a pro for ten years, and you've spent parts of the last four years in The Show. That's a mental blunder that's understandable when you're 17, inexcusable at your age and at this level. Keep the GD ball in front of you.Herrera and Davis both got charged with runs last night, first time in three months for each. Still 1.5 GA, Magic Number down to 11."We've already talked to Zeke (Carrera) about it," an absolutely composed Brad Ausmus said in the manager's office moments after the game. "He was trying his tail off, which is good. But the smart play there is if you're not sure you're going to catch it, you contain it and keep (the runners) at first and second. I think if he could do it over again, that's what he would do.
"We're human beings. They're going to make mistakes out there. I'm sure for a split-second he thought he could catch the ball."
Detroit TigersVerified account@tigersI was all set to write take 2 out of 3 this weekend and tonight isn't an issue, but I just peaked at the schedule next week - KC dodges both Kluber and Sale.At least the Sox rallied against KC. Tonight, we've got Price on the mound, and KC faces Sale. Let's knock two more off the magic number.
Every game is critical. KC has shown the ability to get hot and the Tigers have shown the ability to go cold.MAC_32 said:I was all set to write take 2 out of 3 this weekend and tonight isn't an issue, but I just peaked at the schedule next week - KC dodges both Kluber and Sale.tri-man 47 said:At least the Sox rallied against KC. So, yeah, tonight may be kinda important.
I think they can still compete for the last wildcard.Greco said:As someone much wiser than I said, obviously this team isn't going to win anything anyway.
Pretty much the consensus is they'll either fail to seal the deal next week, or won't get past the Angels. It's not just the erratic bullpen. Their defense atrocious besides C/2B. They've been shut out 9 times, which is unfathomable when you look at their offensive rankings.I love the Tigers but even if they make the playoffs, there is a very, very slim chance to none at being Champions unless every starter goes nine innings every playoff game and avoid the bullpen.
More reasonable than me thinking Bryan Holaday will morph into Dusty Rhodes.Well I guess hoping that something in the Bullpen clicks and the defense can at least be average is about all we Tigers fans can do now.
Soria gets my vote and it ain't even a remotely close call. Will Nathan get the chance to close tonight if needed? Or Soria?
Pitched 3 of the last 4, right? And ineffective/shaky the last 2. Hell, anybody at this point. Or tell David he's on a strict 150 count. Will Nathan get the chance to close tonight if needed? Or Soria?
If managers were smart, they would throw the pitch count out the window at this point in the season.Pitched 3 of the last 4, right? And ineffective/shaky the last 2. Hell, anybody at this point.
