Dexter McCluster as RB? (1 Viewer)

I realize there are rumors he could be seen more in the running game this year in KC. But how and why did MFL switch his position in the middle of the lockout and without any depth chart changes?

Yep. Looks like he's a RB now. I like it.

I like him more as a WR that could get RB points. Barring an injury to Charles, its doubtful I will start him in a RB position on my team(s).

I like Mccluster alot, and think he can be a better version of Reggie Bush. This switch hurts though, he was more valuable listed as a WR that plays RB part time.

I still think he can be a 100 carry, 500 yard, 50 catch 600 yard type player, but again, thats alot more valuable coming from the WR position. His upside is higher in return yardage leagues, and could have been a solid flex/WR3 play with WR2 upside.

Yeah that sure does hurt. Barring a Charles (and Jones?) injury, I think this will make McCluster waiver wire material. I will wait and see how the preseason shakes out (yes, assuming), but as of now I would vote to override MFL's decision in the MFL league I play in.

I read this a while back:http://www.bobgretz.com/chiefs-football/chiefs-pre-draft-prepoffense.htmland Bob's been hinting at this for a while:http://www.bobgretz.com/chiefs-football/tweaking-the-chiefs-run-game-%E2%80%A6-saturday-cup-o%E2%80%99combine.html

If its only going to be based on rumors like this MFL might as well go ahead and change to:Deangelo Williams RB DENKevin Kolb QB AZKyle Orton QB MIN*Just as much to any of those as there is to Dexter McCluster "RB"

Been picking him up in the leagues I have Charles as his cuff. Don't see much action for Jones between the twenty's. McCluster can hit it from anywhere on the field.

Apparently MFL draws its position rankings from Rotoworld, so that is where we can go for the blame. Damn them!

Not good in leagues like mine that give 1 ppr for wr and 0.5 ppr for rb. Unlikely I would ever start him at either position though.

McCluster could have been an option as in injury/bye week flex player as a WR in a PPR... but the RB designation hurts his value significantly IMHO.

If RBs and WRs receive same points for receptions, how does this matter exactly?
That's what I was wondering.
:goodposting: x3I can see why it would matter in a ppr league where WR's get 1ppr and RB's only get like .5ppr, but in leagues where both RB and WR get the same amount of ppr, then in a flex spot it shouldn't matter if he is listed as a WR or RB becuase he would get the same amount of points regardless. Now if your league doesn't have flex spots then I can see where this might hurt some.

This hurt me in my 16 team contract league. I am already thin at WR, and we only start 1 RB. This move was a double wammy for me.

In the two 1 ppr leagues I own him, I'm weak at rb so I welcome the switch. 18 rushes/ 21 catches last year.

Yes and since my league rewards return yardage, he's a very nice sleeper pick late in drafts.

I guess I contradicted myself a bit lol... my point is that in leagues that don't have a flex position, his value is hurt by the RB designation.
I still don't see how it matters if ppr is the same. Are WRs more valuable if you start 2 and 2? Or 3 and 3?

Many leagues that don't use a flex start 2 RBs and 3 WRs... McCluster would have been more likely to break my lineup as a 3rd WR as opposed to a 2nd RB.
