Dexter McCluster doubtful for Monday night game (1 Viewer)

that stinks to miss what would be your first NFL game, and it's on national tv no less. i hope he gets better soon.

McCluster was listed as did not practice, not doubtful. It seems odd that they'd rule him doubtful 48 hours before the game, unless he has something serious all of a sudden.

Watch this space.

NFL.com lists this:

Dexter McCluster WR Illness Did Not Participate In Practice Doubtful

Injury Report

The Chiefs received a late week surprise that wasn’t welcoming on Friday when WR Dexter McCluster missed practice due to illness. Apparently the illness is serious enough to possibly hold McCluster out of action for the season opener. On Saturday, the Chiefs officially listed McCluster as “doubtful.”

I could be wrong, but isn't there some rule where if you miss a certain practice you have to be listed at something, (doubtful or questionable,)I could totally be making this up, but I thought I recall hearing this somewhere

Kansas City Chiefs WR Dexter McCluster missed practice on Friday which surprised quite a few folks since he had no known injury. The Chiefs injury report came out and he was listed as out of practice with an illness.

On Saturday, the Chiefs had to list their injured players as out, doubtful, questionable or probable. They surprisingly listed McCluster as doubtful, which in the NFL's language means he's almost certain not to play.

Well, it's Saturday evening, 48 hours before the game, and McCluster is practicing with the team.

We're not sure whether he'll play on Monday but apparently that possibility remains open with him practicing on Saturday night.

McCluster would be a big boost to the Chiefs offense.

A red flag went up not only in Kansas City, but across the league when McCluster missed his first practice as a Chief and got the “doubtful” designation. But all you have to do is look at tonight’s practice to know that McCluster will be there Monday night as if nothing was ever wrong.

Unless he was being treated at the hospital last night, there’s no way Todd Haley can defend saying that McCluster was doubtful. It would appear on the surface that the Chiefs are just playing a little game of “guess who will be on the field” which the league is not a big fan of when dealing with the injury report.

Thank you for the confirmation. McCluster has been vastly under rated and I'm looking forward to seeing him play on MNF. Next week we should see an "I'm starting McCluster over _______" thread.
